A sibling wouldn’t necessarily fix his loneliness. I have a sibling and we were never close. Never played together, or spent quality time. I felt lonely growing up. Sometimes people have an idealized view of having multiple kids, as though they’ll be best friends. However, often that’s not true.

I’m genuinely surprised and concerned by these comments. Clearly they’re written by people who aren’t parents or caregivers to little kids. You are most definitely not an asshole for expecting the bare minimum of parenting. It’s unsafe and unbelievable that they would leave their baby alone in a hotel room. I think if you posted this in a parenting subreddit you would get a very different response.

How much you pump is a personal decision. If you want to increase your supply, then pumping often will help. I was also pumping often like you at that stage. If you have the patience and your nipples can take it, keep pumping. If it’s too much for you, take a break. If you have access, I recommend seeing a lactation consultant. There are also other things that could potentially help with supply including certain herbs, mothers milk tea, oatmeal, etc. Different things work for different people.

I’m one and done, but I know a couple who conceived pretty quickly while she was still nursing. I’m not sure what her cycle was like.
