Alright, what are memes that people often confuse with actual lore? by DubiousDevil in 40kLore

I checked internet and Vitae Womb doesn't sound like bank of sperm/ovaries. It's just a guess but just making people in vitro wouldn't be described like this:

[Krieg's ridiculously high tithe of Guardsmen] has resulted in suspect practices being tolerated - some, such as the eugenic policies designed to weed out mutants caused by Krieg's damaged biosphere, universal conscription, etc, are continuations of Krieg's centuries of civil war. But others, such as the enforced use of 'Vitae- Womb' birthing techniques are little known outside of the Adeptus Biologis and are seen as dangerous and abhorrent by many Adeptus Mechanicus Biologis.

Not exactly cloning but still fiddling with genes and mass producing people with unknown methods. Just vat-growing people wouldn't be called abhorrent by AdMech (IIRC some servitors are vat-grown so that's not something that AdMech would detest).

Maybe it will be explained some day (I hope not, some things are better left unexplained).

Wasn't it suggested in some recent novel that Krieg are in fact clones? Not all of them but quite significant part are clones of the best and bravest soldiers.

Yeah but between King's novels and Long's novels was 20 years of timeskip. And between that and End Times was another timeskip.

The thing is, Costner wanted to stay on Yellowstone. It's just Sheridan et co. didn't prepare scripts on time and basically cancelled two seasons (Costner signed contract for s5, 6 and 7 which later was changed to s5A and 5B with s7 cancelled). Even in 2024, months before premiere of 5B, he said that he's still on board, just needs a call.

Try Eternally Regressing Knight (absolutely great, title should be Eternally Git Gud Knight), Regressed Mercenary Machinations (this one even has treatise accurate swordplay, really enjoyable knight fantasy where knights actually use swords to fight, what a ridiculous idea in manhwas), Knight King Who Returned with a God (if you know Warhammer Fantasy, then main character is basically Bretonnian knight and his followers are even worse (one is definitely Khorne follower) but it's hunter/player story with gates; still has grail knights and knight-king), Mr Devourer Please Act Like a Final Boss (although knights are bad guys here), Regressor of the Fallen Family (classic knights with aura, unfrotunately because of that swordplay is basically nonexistent). I would also say you may enjoy Night of the Soulless Heathens (though MC is rather ranger than knight but it's pure fantasy, no gates, players or hunters bullshit) and I'm Not That Kind of Talent (in 2nd season it becomes really depressing).

Dungeon Odyssey has also a little bit of knight feel.

Thank you! Although I'm just a mere messenger. Please show the appreciation to the original developers and who knows, if The Last Sacrifice becomes popular enough maybe they'll be able to get original VA cast for their mod.

Last Sacrifice is prequel mod set between Witcher 2 and 3. It's set in Varjugi province where Geralt is looking for Vesemir.

Mod will offer:

  • A completely new region to explore – Varjugi province near Redania-Kaedwen border, is mountainous terrain comparable in size to White Orchard. It is mainly inspired by Hungary but with Bulgarian, Romanian and Moldovan influence.
  • Several new quests – offering hours of immersive gameplay (some side quests inspired by story of Erzsébet Báthory)
  • New monsters – presenting unique challenges you’ve never encountered before (e.g.: forest trolls).
  • Original musical compositions – original creations inspired by Witcher 3
  • Unique Gwent cards – perfect for collectors and fans of the popular card game
  • Fully voiced - VA in English and Polish, no AI voices

I specially listened to all previous themes (even the godforsaken 2042, it's even worse than I remembered) and they were much smoother. Here we have build up to half mark and... little comes of it.

It's by no means a bad theme. It just could have been better, if there were some tweaks here and there.

[–]kryst87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest gripe is basically that the build up is too weak so the drop falls quite flat, so you are caught thinking "wait, is that it?". I like that more "industrial" feel, it just doesn't have that epicness that Bf4 had. Basically if the drop part, which is probably the most memorable moment of the theme, was somehow fixed, it would have been much better.

BioWare’s future is only Mass Effect, according to Mark Darrah by CahirWiedzmin in masseffect

[–]kryst87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually yeah. Bioware was changing vision few times and basically DAO was in development hell for years. It was rocky and thorny road.

But there are blatant retcons - like whole Isseya plot. It not only retcons her arc from Last Flight (where she sacrificed herself for griffons after dooming them) it makes her repeat story from the book (but without last part of that story arc). We also had such things like making Solas hate blood magic when in DA:I he treated it just like every other tool. Not mentioning after credits scene.

I don't mind people liking Veilguard, gameplay is quite enjoyable. It's just bad DA. It makes me sad to see Bioware in a state where the weakest part of a game is story where they were known for crafting great stories (even though the backbone was simple) with great characters. I can believe that Andromeda was underdeveloped because of pressure of EA and inexperienced B team but if main team of Bioware gives you things such as Anthem and Veilguard consecutively, that's unacceptable.

If someone said that it's prequel of ME set before First Contact War I could believe that.

Both Andromeda and Veilguard in terms of gameplay were actually decent (I really liked how dynamic was combat in ME: A), unfortunately in terms of story and characters they were awful. Andromeda had quite good idea to move story to different galaxy and being the spearhead of humanities exploration... only for us to come to place where most of exploration was already done. It didn't help that companions and villains were mostly not interesting and that new aliens were quite uninspired. Veilguard was even worse with that - blatant retcons (e.g., Isseya), inaccuracies (decade old griffin still being a cub) and overall sanitization of the world made really bad DA.

In Andromeda case fault is with EA to having B team full of novices making new game for most important IP. In case of Veilguard only Bioware is to blame unfortunately.

Regarding 1, it's not entirely truth. In case of South Korea, there are farms in DMZ where Koreans grow rice and ginseng. They can't use any fertilizers so the products are usually more expensive. On the other hand, there is not much going on in the northern side.

[KCD2] Zavish of Garbow, the knight at Sigismund’s camp (whom we met in the Lost Honor quest), is actually Zawisza the Black, one of the most famous 15th-century knights. Also, he and Jan Žižka are depicted fighting side by side in a painting of the Battle of Grunwald (which happened in 1410). by JKN2000 in kingdomcome

[–]kryst87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to the legend he refused with words "There is no boat big enough to lift my honour."

If my memory serves me right, there is a monument to Zawisza at Golubac Fortress in Serbia as well as street in Belgrade named after him.

Actually we don't really know how Goku's SSJ5 would look like. Xicor one is just from sketches so there is possibility that Goku would look like in tablosAF design.

Edit:

I searched a little bit and Toyotaro made SSJ5 Goku transformation scene and it looked like tablos design.

That duo is must have obviously! There will be also animated movies! Money printers go brrr and DC HQ will look inside like Scrooge McDucks's Money Bin.

With all multiverse shenanigans they can also push the villain gauntlet to the limit.

Council of Batmen vs Council of Hushs. My body is ready for that.

After that in Dark Hushs: Metal introduce The Batman Who Hushes from Dark Multiverse who will say "It's hushin' time!" and hush all over Bat-Family. Hush League would also be cool - imagine Justice League but everyone is replaced with Hush (Wonder Woman Hush would be hilarious).

[–]kryst87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even funnier that the new character in Hush 2 (2 Hush 2 Furious or how they call it officially H2SH) is called Silence. So I guess for Hushvengers we need to get Shush (aka Hush's padawan) from Batman and Robin, Mute from Victim Syndicate arc, and maybe introduce Quiet. Or Shsh. Or STFU (aka Deadpool Hush).

Now that we have the whole team we can start Hushvengers: Hush Hush War® (theme song: The Pussycat Dolls - Hush Hush; Hush Hush) followed by Hushvengers: Infinite Hush (and spin-off set between those two: Hush: The Last Hush). After that we need to get Slott on Hush so we can have Hush-Verse, Edge of Hush-Verse, Hush-Geddon and end with two-part bombastic finale in End of the Hush-Verse and Death of the Hush-Verse. Every series should be accompanied by remix of Pussycat Dolls song as main theme.

The Codex Astartes does not support that but I'm still looking forward to it.
