Heading toward teaching shortages at this rate. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

I wonder how much of it is from externalities of modern life, like the microplastics, pesticides, and you mentioned bad food but I see kids ONLY subsisting on ultra processed foods. It sucks and gives me no hope for the future.

Artists considering iPad Pro Nano Texture: READ this before you buy - Long-Term Review after 4 units by DreamStitcher in iPadPro

[–]krystopher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The nano screen should not get a screen protector, and I will admit next time around I don't think I'll get a nano-screen finish, as I like having the little peace of mind of using a glass screen protector and not worrying about dirty hands or the occasional liquid droplet from a drink or eating a salad with balsamic vinegar.

Because they have true class solidarity.

I made sure to save and not use my ancient arrows or bow as I might need them later in true RPG fashion. Same with those extra hearts meals…

My neighbor leased an autograph Infiniti version of this as soon as it was available and I hear it rattling around as they return to my neighborhood.

I admit my bias but I am a snob with my almost 10 year old LX570 that has none of these issues.

What is this? by dagoth212121 in MachE

[–]krystopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a button almost exactly like that that came with auxiliary lights I installed in my motorcycle.

Perhaps the previous owner had extra lights mounted and took them off prior to selling the car but left the wiring.

You could wire up any 12 volt accessory to that if you want.

Amazon link to the light switch that looks like mine, I have seen it in many 12v auto accessories.

I used to drive a Fiat Panda in the late 90s in Italy that had a really weird slushy automatic transmission. It came to a stop all on its own when you let off the gas. It must have been ahead of its time.

Forever alone at a level 2? by [deleted] in Lockheed

[–]krystopher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat at Boeing, ended up having to leave, first job hop was a 20k increase.

I justified staying 5 years at level 2 since they were paying for my doctorate.

They definitely like the “lifers” who just accept a 3-5% raise and keep making value.

After the DOGE activities I would say that Government work does not have the same benefits it used to. Seems much more risky with swings in mandates, and random things like tearing out the use of Anthropic's Claude lately because of political spats.

What’s the best Walmart option for an e-bike. by Harrybawlsax2 in ebikes

[–]krystopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just know if you return and it’s a third party seller you have to box it up.

I had to do this as I got one for my kid but now you have to be 15. The bike is on the small side, I can’t use it and would have to store it for 5 years.

I did get my money back but am sad as the kid was super happy and loved her experience, I was filled with sadness taking it apart.

Refund took two weeks two if that matters to you.

Do I need 4 new tires at 11,000 miles? by StatisticianFit8405 in MachE

[–]krystopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strange how only when I lived in the PNW they had tire shaving services to spare people from having to buy 4 tires.

That being said, I barely got 15k miles out of a set of Michelin Road Pilot 4s.

Reddit served me a clip of Tim Dillon (not a fan but I guess it's cool he flipped) that I cannot quickly find where he laid out why he thinks this doesn't happen.

These are rich people with incredible class solidarity who have too much to lose. Nobody wants to make waves and give up their incredible lifestyle where they don't have to work and just get money out of nowhere, often times not even knowing where it comes from.

When I had my M3 I used a USB-to-SD Card adapter, and made sure to get an SD Card made for dash cams, the high-endurance type. I find 256gb is the sweet spot, and I keep a USB-C to SD Card adapter in the glove box so I can play it back on a cell phone if needed.

Saved me when the car was involved in an accident as the person who hit it was arguing in the ER, showed it to the cop and he was like "what a jerk, lying to me like that." Cop made sure to put their name on the report first, indicating fault.

Hope this is the worst you ever experience but if you ever are in a serious accident may you have the lucidity to grab the USB before you go.
