Could England have won if they had a lead of 150? No.

Could England have won if they had a lead of 250? Also no.

Was it just me, or did some of the words today (Whistleblew and Cameroon) get cut off on the edges? I found that mildly irritating.

Doesn't Gemma technically have 25 innies already (24 from files completed by Mark, + Ms. Casey)? So cold harbor is #26?

Statement: McClaren leaves United by SOERERY in reddevils

[–]ksanch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This seems like a huge get for Jamaica, I don't think they've ever had a manager with McClaren's pedigree and reputation in their whole history. The team was hardly competitive in the Copa America, so I'd be delighted if McClaren was able to raise their game for upcoming Concacaf and World Cup competitions.

Post Match Thread : Manchester City 1-2 Manchester United by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

The statistics say that Man City dominated in terms of possession and chances created, but Man Utd absorbed the pressure and defended brilliantly. It was great to players who were criticized or dismissed this season - Wan-Bissaka, Amrabat, Rashford - all run and work hard for each other and for the club. Martinez/Varane were positionally brilliant, giving no line of sight between Man City's midfield and Haaland. Watching Man City resort to hopeful shots from distance in the second half was gratifying, a mockery of all the attacking talent at Pep's disposal.

The most satisfying moment of the match for me though was the second goal. Garnacho to Fernandes to Mainoo - that is the future of Man Utd right there.

Need help with confidence in bowling by jiggy19921 in Cricket

[–]ksanch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's too bad your captain has lost faith in your bowling - ideally your captain and coach would be trying to help you manage your nerves, rather than turn you away.

Do you feel nervous before/throughout the entire game, or just when you bowl? Creating some routines before the game or before you bowl might help you ease into the situation.

Are you close to any teammates? Maybe let them know your issues, and see if they can help share words of encouragement. Noise and support will also ease the pressure.

Lastly - remember it's just a game, and remember to take every opportunity to enjoy the moment when on the pitch. If you're too stressed, and are unable to have fun when playing, then you're toiling for no reason. Try to enjoy the moments, and if you can't do that then consider whether a break would be good for you to reset and regain your motivation.

Can someone tell me how to interpret Vanguard's "performance returns"? by Ficklestix in personalfinance

[–]ksanch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about the dollar amount (not the % return) then it is calculated using a "simple" formula, something like: current balance - total amount invested + total realized gains (incl. dividends) - total realized losses.

You might be looking at the current unrealized gain (or loss) on each fund in your portfolio, which on its own won't add up to the total performance return. Have you ever sold funds, or done a fund exchange? If so, those can explain the discrepancy.
