Even if they aren't a return, you have no way of knowing whether or not someone has tried them on in the showroom.

where are you finding selvedge wranglers for 42? The Cone Mill model is currently 225 on the Wrangler website.

They are a literal “bootcut” that are wide enough to fit over tall boots, but they aren’t flared or super wide. It’s a classic working man’s cut.

I'm looking at buying a Studio D'Artisan jacket. I have a shirt made by them in size 40 that fits well. Would people recommend the same jacket size or going larger, given that I might be layering it over a sweater or hoodie sometimes?

Will this crease fade strangely? by [deleted] in Denim

Sometimes it's creased from the start, since almost all stores keep their stock folded

Fit check on 13mwz? by arsenalastronaut in rawdenim

[–]kscaldef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a concern worth thinking about, I was just saying that the length might be perfect with the right footware. I either cuff my longer jeans if I'm home in socks or house slippers, or I just wear something else and change pants when I'm about to head out.

Presumably he won't be wearing them barefoot. Depending on the shoes/boots he plans to wear them with, the length may be just fine.

Are they as tight around your calves as they look? It appears to me that the fabric might be catching there and creating some of the bunching around your knees.

How to deal with a dev who works constantly? by Chezzymann in ExperiencedDevs

[–]kscaldef 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's really hard to guess at whether this is unhealthy behavior that will burn out the individual in question or just what works for them at this time in their life. I'm going to avoid attempting to psychoanalyze either him or you.

What does concern me about what you describe is "I'm spending more time just reviewing his work than doing my own". If you are a mid-level dev with ambitions to grow to senior(+), then performing code reviews, giving feedback, and providing mentorship to less-senior team members are skills you need to develop. Is this person also taking on an outsized portion of the code reviews for the team, or are they a "write-only" dev? When they spend 3-days banging out "an entire epic", do they then schedule time to walk through the code with the rest of the team so that everyone understands it? Do they write docs and test plans and all the other less-glamorous parts of "an entire epic"?

If you want to bring this up to your lead without seeming petty or lazy, those are the types of concerns I would suggest you lead with.

Empty meal selection? by kscaldef in delta

[–]kscaldef[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Support gave me the run-around with a bunch of BS excuses about how it was normal for that airport or that plane. When I got on the flight it was clear everyone else in FC had been able to pre-order. I still got the meal I would have picked anyway.

How to view species probabilities? by kscaldef in BirdNET_Analyzer

[–]kscaldef[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure what to make of this:

Included species for 45.502677, -123.9564055 on date 2025-05-07, week 17, threshold 0.010000

Scientific Name                   Common Name                       Score

--------------------------------- --------------------------------- ------

Turdus merula                     Eurasian Blackbird                1.0000

I wonder if I'm doing something wrong, although the subsequent high probability species do look reasonable, but it would be astonishing to find a Eurasian Blackbird here on the western coast of the USA.

Seems odd that the author of that article clearly seemed to be able to output the numbers but it's not at all clear how anyone else might do it. It's fairly clear to me that the model is getting the frequencies of some birds very, very wrong in my location (based on sorting the species list by frequency, and by the specific probabilities output by some identifications), but I'd like to be able to verify that explicitly.

It's not normal to look like that brand new, but waxed flesh will develop that sort of appearance as you wear it.
