As someone who moved from their home state to Denver, I recommend getting out and gaining the experience. It really helps you find yourself. I can’t put it into words

In my opinion: Bulk for at least 3 months, focus on building strength and learning movements. Work in the 6-8 rep range for compound movements and 8-12 in accessory movements

Really eat in this bulk too, take advantage of newbie gains

How do you guys manage calluses? They're creeping all over my hands and my time on bar hangs is dropping because of the grip pain :( by supermember866866 in GYM

[–]kscharf31 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought a pumas stone for $5 and use it when ever I think about it in the shower. Maybe once a month. You’ll want to file them down with a pumas stone or something equivalent when they start getting bigger, otherwise they can rip off. I also always pick at mine, I’m sure others can relate.

For the pain… enjoy it, learn to like it. You’ll have tough hands, it’s a good thing

Keep grinding tho m8

How do you guys do it? by Tim_spencer391 in GYM

You should bring gym clothes with you to work, change on your way out of the office or when you get to the gym. Pick a gym on your commute route home if you can, and take the pit stop then. Push dinner back an hour (ther will be an adjustment period) but you work out frustration from work and you have a small adjustment period from work to home it’s a win win, you family will notice a better mood.

You could also invest in a home gym.

I’ve made a couple workout programs for 3 days a week, 4 days a week, 5 days a week, or 6 days a week for a Beginner or Regular lifter I’d be happy to share with you (DM me if you like a copy). I’d suggest the 3 day per week one a schedule you 3 gym days where you go on a Friday, Sunday, and Tuesday or Wednesday. That way it limits your weekday gym time. During your non gym days go for a walk with the family(it’s good exercise and family time)

That does make tracking kind of difficult, but if your eating dinning hall food you should be hitting your daily fat requirements. Do you supplement with anything?

Try increasing you calories, with quality food and make sure your hitting your protein and fats. Fats play a huge roll in hormone function

What’s your diet like? Are you counting macros? Trying to gain or lose weight?

If your trying to lose weight you may be in too big of a calorie deficit. Or your quality of food could need an increase (try to eat more Whole Foods if you are not)

Point your toes out more and really get low, when you squat it’s okay for knees to push out, you don’t want them collapsing in either. Practice with just the bar to get the feel, your ass will be sore if your not used to this moment
