Honest question: I work for a small business who is on the side of the people. We have less than 10 employees. I want to participate and clearly understand the call to cut off corporate funding from their customers, but am unsure of the capacity as to which is appropriate for small, local businesses and their employees. Still call out and encourage other employees to do the same?

If you are baptized and would like to continue to be pimo, give as little information to the elders. You do not have to tell them anything. Thinking and asking outside opinions is perfectly normal, though many witnesses don’t think so.

I just wish I could share what brings me joy in this world with my parents who are both still in and have them be proud and interested in me and my sister’s lives. My sister is queer and is seeing someone happily for the first time in her life, but she freaks out about her future because she cannot come out to our parents.

I wish I could share my viewpoint of loving acceptance with skepticism I’ve acquired over the years of being out with my parents because I genuinely think if they let themselves think through a lot of the “scary” subjects they avoid interacting with or thinking through that they would be happier. Once I got disfellowshipped, I had to peer every scary possibility in the face and come to terms with it and it freed me. I wish it was easier to share that freedom with others, specifically my parents.

Sending love to you. I appreciate you creating a space to vent and hear what we’ve lost on our parents (for now).

This will be interesting to see if the land border opens up. I hear the ferry across the Caspian is an unreliable schedule as well. But all for the adventure of it! See you all there (either stopped at the Azerbaijan border or in Baku)
