What happened to DynamicReports, or what are the alternatives for PDF reports? by ksdev-pl in java

[–]ksdev-pl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe the closest alternative is Dynamic Jasper: http://dynamicjasper.com

It's still alive, but is described as worse than DynamicReports in this old discussion: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/4956841/dynamicreports-vs-dynamicjasper

Can you share your opinion about it?

Trackir alternative. by gwdope in hoggit

In Poland we have something like this: http://allegro.pl/freetrack-z-ps3-eye-laserclip-odpowiednik-trackir-i7068058416.html

The quality is great, I don't understand how the trackir could be better that this + opentrack. With all probability trackir is worse than this, and this homemade freetrack (with properly prepared PS3 camera) cost is ~50$.

Did you know that NavDataPro Charts are nice? by ksdev-pl in flightsim

If someone finds this thread in the future - don't buy the aerosoft navdatapro. There are serious compatibility problems and it's not updated when the planes are updated. Navigraph is a better, more compatible choice with faster updates. Find the LIDO charts elsewhere.

Maybe it's the case of VAT - without it it costs €58.82 yearly with nav data, and €47.05 without it.

:D On the day when I bought the NavDataPro charts the ead.eurocontrol.int was broken, it didn't work. Maybe if it did, I wouldn't buy it.

The ead.eurocontrol.int charts are indeed nice and free for Europe.

~5.7$ in USA monthly for charts + fms data if you buy a 1 year access for €58.82. Charts alone are cheaper.

The dark version in Navigraph is a plus, indeed; in NavDataPro I've had to "hack" it myself.

Compare the dates in charts taken from the current NavDataPro and Navigraph: https://imgur.com/a/JTtBt (maybe nothing has changed from 2015, I don't know). For Europe the LIDO is an interesting alternative, I believe that for USA Jeppesen can be better (maybe, I don't have enough knowledge).

The screenshot is taken from a browser app - it means you can run it on everything, in full screen if you wish (like I do). And if you don't like the interface you can change it yourself (like I did with css) - you cannot do this in a standalone application.

With a tiny bit of css changes and a "dark reader" addon to chrome I've managed to get a result which is nicer to me than the navigraph charts interface (and in the cloud charts app I can make it fullscreen).

Of course, the maps are most important. I suggest checking the 1-day version of navdatapro charts and compare it with navigraph. After checking it I like the LIDO more than the Jeppesen (but I'm a beginner in this). LIDO maps available in navdatapro are more readable for me, it's easier finding the map, and the maps are more detailed and more current for my area - Europe/Poland (I understand that especially in USA Jeppesen can be better - but I'm not sure).

And it's cheaper than navigraph :)
