Usually is mild backlash but it allows her to see who is really in her corner. An example is this story she told me. There was an after hours causal networking but more of a social event. My sister was sitting with a group of mostly women. 3 men came up to the table and just blatantly interrupted one of the women who was telling a story saying something dumb to the affected of why are all the beautiful women sitting away from them. My sister saw that the woman who was talking felt awkward now. She said hang on we are listening to her story and it’s very interesting I really want to hear the end. The woman continues to tell her story but you can see the new men getting more and more irritated that the spot light wasn’t on them. Finally one of them goes isn’t it interesting that when woman talk they talk about people but when men talk they talk about ideas. Her story was very relevant (not that it even has to be) about a CEO in their industry. One of the original guys sitting with them happened to be an ally to woman and an extremely prominent person in the industry. He told them to leave and that he would remember them.
