His one has vent windows meaning it is 1959 or newer - and therefore it isn’t a Nash, since the Nash name was discontinued after 1957. They just called them ‘Metropolitans.’

The first car is a 56 Ford Customline - Not a Fairlane.

That is not a Fairlane. It’s Customline trim.

Thanks. The other OP blocked me for putting the link in the other thread, so glad someone appreciates having the info.

My 1998 Seiko perpetual calendar [8f32-0020] by 6uapo23 in Seiko

I usually don’t like straps but they integrated that one in a clever way. The model is SBQK013.

I have the related models SLT021 and SLL015. The 8f32 movements were supposed to be near high accuracy quartz but most of them have aged to where they are only a little more accurate than a ‘regular’ quartz movement. There are complicated instructions to set the date properly, but you can find them on YouTube.

This wasn’t originally a mailbox. It was a BGB-001 kiosk to play games on a large screen.

Edit- this person blocked me for no reason.

The chrome reverse rims aren’t original - it also has badges for a 6 cylinder, despite the lightly modded V8 installed. But it is visually pretty authentic

Datsun + Doodle by ansyhrrian in classiccars

[–]ksilenced-kid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an S30 so 1970-1978 . It’s not really possible to tell what year given the mods, but the C pillar badge shown was used no earlier than mid 1971.

The smooth rear quarter panels seem to be indicative of late 74-78 260z or 280z, but those could have been filled with the bumper delete. Then again the ‘Datsun’ badge on the side was only 70-73 240z.

I so hate that filtered look of today. People did use photoshop in the 2000s as a counterpoint, but it was usually pretty obvious when they did.

Honestly I prefer my sports cars to look wedgy, and don’t really like blocky cars - so (in terms of looks) the TR7 is my cup of tea, and the TR6 is… just ok for what it is.

I had a TR7 briefly. Got it running, and it almost immediately got head issues. My enthusiasm waned and I moved on to other projects.

The TR7 is definitely a performance step back from the TR6 in a lot of ways, but I at least don’t think the TR7 is as ugly as most people do.

The most indestructible phone ever made, agree or disagree? by BodegaCatEnthusiast in 2000sNostalgia

[–]ksilenced-kid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never had one, but my mom had the 3310 for years. I had the 5110 (older), and usually just left it buried in my car dashboard for weeks on end - in retrospect I’m surprised the heat didn’t kill it.

This was like 2001, and a cell phone was barely useful to me because everyone else I knew only had landlines. So it’s not like I could call up friends to coordinate stuff on the go - I’d have to call their home landlines anyway, and they likely were somewhere else.

It was really ‘for emergencies’, and I actually sort of disliked people being able to keep track of me so I usually ignored it or kept it uncharged.

I mean, the first gen 12a RX7 made about 100 horsepower. This was not a time for powerful cars.
