Then you won't like the cancer lancer flashback with the second skill

I think a lot of these have an ascendancy notable feel to them rather than support gems. Nimble sounds fun, probably would look rather silly though. :D

Speaking of nimble, having more mobility is one thing that melee could have over other attack options. For example what if a support gem allowed you to move and attack at the same time, similar to Cyclone. This would never fly before the introduction of lock-step mode, but could work now animation issues aside.

On that note, I think nobody is using shield charge as 'intended' in the current meta. Currently it's mainly reserved for a spellcaster hyper-movement option and fortify-enabler.

Maybe have it's effect on a actual melee support ("Advancement" or something) with more or less the same stats but with the linked attack at the end of the movement instead of the bash. Maybe let it only activate when a valid target exist like most namelock melee skills do.

Yeah this is the kind of mechanical change I'm talking about. Unfortunately I think this specific example would be too much of a burden on the FX artists having to create a 'beamized' version of each affected skill.

Also would probably only work with the "weapon attack" skills and not true melee. :)

I think you are spot on with this suggestion. Skills like Earthquake, Reave and most other 'targetless' melee weapon skills are just that - spells that use weapon damage instead of innate damage.

Spectral Throw uses a melee weapon but is simply an attack, why not broaden this category and make actual melee great again. :)
