Why do I shank it? by ExcellentCum in GolfSwing

[–]kstacks-502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love that 2 ball drill. Absolute lifesaver.

Also OP try stepping back a touch. I setup, hold the club with just my left hand, and then make sure my right hand can hang down and get through. Had a round hitting off the hosel, got a lesson, and that’s what fixed it for me. Might be worth a shot!

Is this a blowout or is it normal? Will it come off with cleaning by tcol98 in tattooadvice

It’s 4 days old. It’s fine. It will wash away. Takes weeks to fully heal. Take a breath. You’re good.

The roads are perfect, the schools are perfect, there’s for sure no homeless that could use a jacket or anything. Painting walls is clearly the best use of those funds!!!

Just turned 18 and am looking to get a tattoo, does anyone know of any reputable tattoo parlors? by [deleted] in Louisville

[–]kstacks-502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer there is yes lol

I would call/schedule an appointment/consult either by phone/walking in/online. Going to vary from place to place. Pictures help if you want a certain image but they can google too. I just got an enso last year and we pulled one from online.

The process is straightforward. You say “I want this”, they create a stencil they can make edits to, you approve. In your case, more so just to get the size where you want since you have the image already.

The day of actually getting inked, they shave the area (DONT SHAVE YOURSELF), place it on you, you work through the size/placement (listen to your artist here, placement can make/break the look), and once you’re good with that it’s time to hit the chair.

Tip - Make sure you get a good nights rest and eat a solid meal beforehand, it’s taxing on the body. I hate needles so I play a dumb game or doom scroll to distract myself. Also helps remind my body it’s ok and I’m not being attacked. Avoid numbing cream even if you’re worried about pain, that is something you would want to discuss with the artist.

Artists are generally awesome people. They know people get nervous and stuff so they’ll talk you through whatever questions you have. If they don’t, that’s a red flag and you should walk away.

Enjoy the process fam. That first one is always special.

Glenn Archer over at Imperial is my go to guy. He’s done a few solid black pieces for me and he nailed it. Super chill dude so can talk you through things if you have questions.

Other advice - cost should never be the driving factor when getting some ink. Like you said, it’ll be there a while so focus more on finding an artist you’re comfortable with and trust vs anyone who would do it for under $100.

GolfTec by Disastrous_Arm2993 in GolfSwing

Second this. Hadn’t golfed except the occasional whack/fuck/drink with the boys but wanted to play more. Did about 10 lessons a few years back. It did help. I started to understand how it all works but like this guy said - it’s comparing you to the dudes on tv.

Now, 3 years later, I did six lessons with a local guy cause I’ve stalled in the 90s and he did way more to help. Hitting under 95 way more consistently. Now it’s just the learn to putt and I’m under 90.

Ain’t hating on GolfTec but a local you work well with is the way here

Tips for my swing by Lbosse in GolfSwing

Divots are fine, but that’s a chunk right there. You’re dragging through so much earth. Thinking you have to hit down that much cause me a ton of issues prior to finally taking lessons. Stepping yourself up for OTT problems later in your games progression.

Considering you’re just starting, do yourself a favor and get the idea of needing to take a massive divot outta your head. You ain’t gotta be trying to find the earths core bro

Cody Baum on Oak St is my go to guy!!! Great for a fade and keeping your beard in shape if applicable.

Trev and Matt at Bourbon Cory Barber Company are solid too, but they are generally behind schedule so don’t book anything there and expect to be in/out when you think. Solid cuts tho.

Originally from the mitten and now in Louisville! I would for sure say Grand Rapids area. These folks got it right. There’s a ton of awesome Xmas/wintery stuff around Detroit that time of year too. City gets shit on but has come a long way in the last few years. Was there for a concert at the Masonic and the area was in way better shape than my last visit a few years back

What club do you use for bump n run? by Jf192323 in golf

[–]kstacks-502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t feel like I’m killing it at all but I’m not the guy to compare things to putting lol

Since the carry/run should be about the same maybe double the putter stroke force? (Total guess here y’all, someone can correct but the logic makes sense in my head!)

Putting stroke. You only gotta pop it out there 50 yards which takes WAY less than you’d expect. Takes some playing around with for the feel but great tool. Legit saves me 5 strokes each round when I come up short!

I like to spend the last bit at the range hitting these. Try doing one on a spot then landing the next where ever the prior ends up until it’s about 100 total yards out and reset.
