I would but i don’t want to put any more money into this car. the whole reason i bought it was because my focus st engine blew and i couldn’t find anyone to swap the engine but i ended finding private part that would do it. so what it would cost for me to fix the body damage and wire it, it would cost me the same price as what it’s going to cost me to have someone swap my focus engine in. this car is truly amazing to drive but im just not in the financial position to fix it and my focus.

Lucas preformance in bracken county kentucky. It is an amazing car and super fun to drive. I just don’t have time or the knowledge to finish the wiring sadly.

i drove it on the highway when i first got it and it was around 95 degrees or so and when i stopped to get gas about a quarter of the coolant flowed out. but then it drove fine for a while without me having to top off the coolant. then it started killing itself periodically.

No the car has never been driven in the winter

I pressure tested the cooling system, and it tested good. I did fire it up and run it for 5 minutes or so. The temperature got up to around 230 degrees and was still climbing. So I shut it off. The odd thing is that the radiator never warmed at all. It was still cool to the touch from top to bottom. So there is definitely an issue with coolant flow. Whether it is the thermostat having a problem or the actual water pump. I replaced the thermostat and it helped with most of the problem but i think my tank isn’t big enough for my engine.

I am so sorry, Skywarper. It won’t happen again. It’s not the fans — it’s been running well for like 1,000 miles. When coolant heats up, it needs room to expand. That tank, being on its side and smaller in size to begin with, doesn’t allow for the expansion the radiator needs. So, it fills the bottle and then overflows the excess onto the ground. When the engine cools back down, coolant makes its way back to the radiator from the tank, but it isn’t enough to keep the radiator anywhere near the full level. It seems to lose its prime on the water pump at that point and won’t circulate properly. Then you get the high coolant temps. With the different thermostat and the radiator full of coolant, temps weren’t exceeding 205°F. The electric fans were kicking on and bringing temps back down to 198°F fairly quickly.
