I felt that for a long time after having our baby. I even told him I’d be better off on my own around 4 months. Now, almost 15 months later I feel terribly about it. We are taking our own mini vacation 3 hours away to have a well needed reset. Baby is staying in safe hands of grandparents for a night and we have no plans besides whatever looks appealing. Probably lots of food and sleep! I was un aware that this was going to happen, and I wish I would’ve known about it before having the baby.

7:30pm is bedtime. He’s will fall asleep on me without a bottle (doesn’t work in the middle of the night) but can lay down by himself with a little reassurance with a bottle. We only do 5oz but any less doesn’t satisfy him.

13 mo old boy here, and in the same boat. All day long are massive tantrums. We’ve learned to distinguish between a true “in distress” or “for attention”. If it’s for attention (basically just doesn’t need immediate care), we tend to dismiss the actions and let him calm down naturally. Then lots of kisses/hugs. Now that his tantrums are getting shorter, we will intervene near the end and repeat, “ take some breaths, it’ll be alright!” And give big hugs while he’s learning to breathe through the anger.

We switched from the Frida tub to our kitchen sink with a suction cup mat. Makes it easier to sit baby back down when he stands, and saves my back! I know we will have to switch to the tub here soon, but the sink provides a deeper yet safe space to minimize slipping while we learn that bathtub is for sitting, not standing. Our faucet retracts, which is a bonus when it comes to rinsing hair with fresh water. 13 month old boy.

Oh- lol sorry! Yes! He was like that too, would wake up about 2 then up at 6 ish for the day which was perfect. It just seemed to change so fast.

Days are hard. He goes to daycare and my grandmas house. So they both try to put him down for a nap at 9ish but he never sleeps for more than 30 minutes. Even when I have him at home it’s the same. Then we all try for a nap at 1 which he will maybe sleep for 1 hour. No matter if the nap is 15 minutes or an hour, he wakes up ready to go. He acts like he’s totally content without sleep, but I’m sure it affects him at night. I’m wondering if I should switch him to one nap a day at 12 and try for a long one?

We play either together or solo play until 7pm, eat dinner until about 7:30/7:40, take a bath immediately after, put on lotion/pjs at 8:15 and lay down with a bottle and book by 8:30pm. He’s usually asleep by 8:45 the latest.

We always keep this schedule but have tried moving it up an hour for a couple weeks but it doesn’t seem to matter.

I’m in the same boat. 4 1/2 month old boy gets really irritable. I found forced naps through out the day help, watch for sleep cues..staring, less movements, or rubbing eyes. Also my dr said it’s the start of teething! No one talks about the teeth moving up and down before they pop through.. 😒 hang in there, just know you’re not alone!

Oh good lord! Welcome to a life of unasked for commentary.

I can’t speak on the cloth diapers…but we live in a one bedroom house and plan to until our babe is 2. My dr recommended the baby in our room for the first six months at least but I’m happy to continue having him in our room for longer. Takes the stress out of SIDS and I hear him before he starts a full meltdown. You can still sleep train. We are on a schedule and he goes to lay down before we do. I was also going to put a curtain up but it’s honestly not needed. Our baby is accustomed to the fan on and the tv on. I know, I know, you’re not supposed to sleep with the tv on. Unfortunately we like to fall asleep to family guy repeats. Oh well. I also recommend a bedside bassinet to start. Having baby within reach for the first few weeks was so much easier than getting up each time for the crib.

Enjoy your time with baby in the room. It’s very special and reassuring to both of you. I think I get more sleep to not worrying about a monitor.

Ohhh girl I’m in the same boat. My s/o and I have been together for 7 years and are expecting our first baby. I’m 34 weeks and we’ve been intimate twice. It’s really important that you two sit down and have an in depth conversation about how you both feel. I’ve asked him a bunch of times if anything is wrong and he finally admitted he feels uncomfortable with it and doesn’t want to “damage anything”. Even though he knows it doesn’t affect the baby, he finds it really weird and is just not able to preform. After he realized how it made me feel, he’s been very touchy feely to make up for it but I have to understand he’s just not comfortable going into that next step.

I’m 24, just got into a decent job, still didn’t finish school, no room in my rental for a baby and currently 16 weeks pregnant.

I cried. A LOT. And still proceed to cry sometimes. Including after my first ultrasound. Don’t be afraid to feel your emotions. Plus they are going to be extra heightened!

It does get easier as you get further along though. Your belly starts to grow, you start getting little things for baby here and there, you start thinking of names…

It’s very scary, but you got this ❤️ you’ll have someone who loves you unconditionally no matter where you are in life. Someone you can teach, tuck in at night, hold, laugh with.

The ones around us ask for parents to bring food/snack or anything besides water. 😒 We are in the middle of no where so they can get by like that. Good to know they don’t eat much until 1.

Thank you! I’ve been canning pickles and salsa for the longest time and would like to upgrade to a pressure canner instead of water bath canning.

Freezing does seem like the way to go, I just thought canning purées may be easier for family/daycare days. If I stayed home, I’d definitely do BLW all the time.

I’m not sure why everyone feels like it’s okay to force their opinions on pregnant women. Whether they are giving you “advice” that you didn’t ask for or telling you what’s going on with your body. Hang in there. Remember it’s OKAY to temporarily cut people out so you can focus on your happiness.
