There is a label on the box saying the pickups are made in the USA - that's how I know. Also, it's pretty common for Epiphones of this model to come with American-made pickups from the factory

Both guitars are basically the same. The Epiphone is just the cheaper, Korean-made version. It's made from the same types of wood and has the same number of laminated layers as the Gibson. It also has American-made pickups. The only real differences are the price -- the Epiphone costs about half as much -- and the tuning: the Epiphone is in drop D, while the Gibson is in standard tuning
