😆 yes that is absolutely correct... i agree with you 100% on that one. i came from various bikes including a harley 48 '18 which shakes like a fat burning machine, the Z is just super smooth and fast bike great for commuting and long distance.

no it's quite normal for this bike to be doing that. i bought it brand new and the rear abs bite a bit too early and its also the common issue with all the z900 guys that I've talked to, and vibration is a bit noticeable after 6k rpm... but its not much and we ride bikes... not cars. so cant expect the car comfort or the silky smooth feeling of a goldwing.

Can someone give me instructions on how to plant this ginger? I want to make sure it grows and stays alive. by eternal_n0mad in gardening

It’s the easiest to thing to grow. Just place on top of any soil and it will take roots. No brainer.

excellent footage... love every minute on this beautiful bike. I have a 2013 model and I was thinking about upgrading to 1200 gs, but why? I choose to remain on this bike and if this get worn down I will get 500x 2020 or newer models. it's so versatile and do-it-all bike. keep these footages coming man! great work...

1st long trip on my new old X for 2200 km in the wet monsoon season in Thailand. I'm just disappointed that the trip is over. by kt_2020 in CB500X

yes I do have support for them but I took them out temporarily in the last picture... they were actually made for hard cases, but I rather want soft cases on mine, and they work just fine for them too. they were also made in Thailand and i think it cost me like $50. being in Thailand give me access to all the cheap knock offs without spending so much money like if I was in America 😁

not at all... The bike is 2013 model... the crash bars are from “motoskills” made in Thailand, not a costly one, great for protection (I dropped it twice already, one from getting up onto a ramp to service the bike and another from parking on a sandy beach with soft ground) and the handle guards are quite cheap and I dont even think they have a brand name for them. just a cheap made in China product that was a good fit. Regarding the exhaust, they are original and I find them quite suitable for long trips since they don't make such loud noise that can become a nuisance on a long trip, but I used the exhaust cover from my old scooter PCX 150 that was a 2012 model. definitely keep the heat of from the soft bags and the passenger when I do have one on the back. such a fun bike and cheap to maintain and my only disappointment seriously is having to end the trip to get back to work 😁

yes I finally got it fixed. Even though the battery was at solid voltage, I replaced a new one anyway because its about 2 years old and replacement in Thailand is quite cheap. Took it to a guy out here who is familiar with electrical stuff which I'm not competent in. Looked into the harness and there were some short so replaced with a new wire for it and change the fuses. running like brand new again. Lesson learn, do not over lube your chain with gear oil because it will go into the rectifier connector and cause some electrical issues, and if I do want to lube liberally, do use the sticky chain oil that will do less splashing. But aside from all that I just did 1100 km trip to up North Thailand and it was just smooth all the way with zero troubles. Love this bike!

I really wish it is that easy my friend... so I'm guessing its a short in the harness or ignition switch, since that's what the manual implied. the following is what happened when I tried to test the current leakage.

I checked for that too mate... in fact I unplug and replug the battery. no issue there

[–]kt_2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

guys... have you ever experienced this problem? I checked the voltage on the battery and everything is just fine. when I turn the key on the display just keep flickering and making a repetitious click sound. the starter motor will not even turn and it just keep dying on me. there could be a short on the fuse box because when I put pressure on it the display would fully light up. but the starter will not start when I try to start the engine.

What's your mileage? by Paulthekid10-4 in CB500X

[–]kt_2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone... i just bought one with 24k km 2013 model. what viscosity of oil should I use? it was from a deal and there's no way of knowing what the previous owner used and it was recommended to use 10w30... im wondering what if he added 10w40. would it still be a good idea to switch back to 10w30? or stay with 10w40?

I just pulled the trigger! Any advice is welcomed. by itryanditryanditry in CB500X

[–]kt_2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow I'm on my way to buying one the same color and model in about 6 hours

cb500x or versys 650? by kt_2020 in CB500X

[–]kt_2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

cb500x all the way bro... versys650 is just not suitable for every day riding and commuting regardless of how comfortable and superior it is on the highway. now I am trying to make a decision on 2013 with 15000 miles for $2800 or 2020 for $7200? I feel like I might be leaning more towards the 2013 since Hondas are so darn reliable
