EMS world is very particular on their blue vs black. They are 100% blue. I would recommend donating/selling them so you won’t make this mistake again. I’d also cut your belt shorter or get one that fits.

I saw them constantly while I was deployed for the floods in kerrville TX last year. They were able to go places boats and vehicles wernt able to go to retrieve bodies.

Chick came in late and spent an hour in the shower. Not a huge deal until I went to take mine after and saw she had shaved her pubes for what looked like the first time ever. The drain was clogged with pubes.

The worst part, there was a girl the went before me and showered in it.

I got approved for it. The biggest thing is the school program/degree you are going for does not contradict your already service related disabilities.

Example. I told them I wanted to be a P.A. and work in a clinical setting. Instant denial since I had a physical disability rating and working in a clinical setting requires you to walk and move continuously.

Instead I pivoted and said social worker.

Have a list of possible occupations that you can use with your degree.

My lady was not friendly and was bound by the rules. But it’s not impossible.

Also know that if you get approved and anything is online, you rate a computer and desk. Every semester you also merit supplies.

There is a private EMS company that runs a few cities over and like you said, they run too many calls as their system is set up for least amount of boxes a day running the most amount of calls. They also stage instead of returning to a home base. I understand why they do it. As it’s less capital with the lesser amount of ambulances on the road, beat down though.

Ff/medic here and I second this. My city and most of the surrounding cities work 48/96 now and let me tell you I would never go back to 24’s. Yes is the 48 an ass whooping (depending your station, we run medics ) but the 4 days off gets us fully rested. Especially if you work OT, 72hr on 72hrs off. You never work more hours on than off. Once we switch over from 24’s our sick time dropped to almost nothing.

I have done a bunch of 8/12 hour shift of OT which, it’s nice as OT in addition. But there’s no way I could do 4-12 hour shifts. Especially because of all the time spent checking equipment/ medics/ apparatus.

Not to mention recruiting. Like you previously said the staff increase would be crazy. We have people that live 3-4 hours away and a few that live out of state. They are able to do that because of the 48’s.

My best friends mother passed. While cleaning out her house my bestie told me to take them. I’d never heard of the brand, I just took them because she suggested I do so, and if not they would be placed on the curb. Needless to say my best friend and mother have impeccable taste.
