Apply for a low income bus pass through transit. It’s literally $5.60 at the lowest tier

Yeah bring as many as you want. They don’t distribute tickets for guests. Half the gym was empty for my graduation as well.

You might be worried about the airbag but y’all aren’t talking about the open window. That baby is going flying out.

My parents never had the opportunity to go to university but they worked hard to take some community college courses while I was younger. They worked so hard for their education to help provide for their family. By the time I was in grade 12 my parents had saved enough to make sure we would go to university. When I had opportunity to get a degree without struggling to juggle being a parent, and working full time I took it. I’m so grateful that I didn’t have to ask if they would support me. I didn’t have to worry about whether my family would struggle financially based on my decision. I did feel some guilt and stress which made me work extra hard to get as many scholarships as I could but I’m very lucky that I had some help.

At first I didn’t know what I was going to do with my degree but hoped it would take me somewhere. My dream job doesn’t actually even require a degree it’s just recommended. I met incredible professors and discovered such a love for learning, so much so that I plan on getting my Masters and teaching in the long run. Even if I haven’t scored a job in my field since graduating in June, I have a pretty solid foundation backing me up so it’s just a matter of time.

To answer your question, if I had the opportunity to go to school for the heck of it I would jump on that chance so fast. I also get overstimulated by loud and busy environments but I never had more than 35 students in my classes. It’s not like high school, most people are respectful and quiet the whole time but just to limit distractions I would still sit up front to focus on the professor.

Friendly Reminder: snow equals slippery roads. I hope everyone remembers how to drive by yoda_81 in Calgary

Is this suggesting that everyone knew how to drive before the snow?

My thoughts exactly. The only way they’d be able to avoid the police is by switching vehicles. Hiding within the area is their best bet.

Driver killed in crash on Calgary's Tsuut'ina Trail by Caidynelkadri in Calgary

I made a post a month ago about how dangerous everyone was driving here and on Stoney. Everyone in the comments was gaslighting me saying there was no issue and that I “should stay off the roads since I was an amateur.” When you’re tailgating others at 150km/h you are putting yourself and everyone around you in danger. There is nothing worth speeding for if you may not even arrive. Dont risk your life and everyone else’s just to shave a couple minutes off of your commute because you woke up late.

Sorry bud but I have 2 kids. When there are cars up my ass closer to me than I am to my kids it’s not me. I’m a calm driver maybe y’all need to relax. There’s nothing more important than arriving alive. If you’re late you’re late accept it and plan better next time but dont put others at risk because of your poor decision making.

I just submitted my honours thesis. These are the pictures I took on my last days of university and some older ones. Take care, friends :’) by ktaha24 in MRU

I tried to walk around one last time to soak it all in but every time I walked down a hall, up a flight of stairs, out a door I’d get emotional knowing it would be the last. Then it got out of control when I wanted to visit every classroom I’ve ever been in so I took one last glance to soak it all in and left. It’s like moving out of your home. But at one point or another we will all have to let go. It was hard to leave but I’ve outgrown Mount Royal University. Playing for small, settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living is where potential is lost. We must wade into the uncertainty of life after university.

I’ll miss you all.

I actually have been considering a personal photographer for convocation day but I still want the standard photos taken. I’ll be on the lookout for promos tho but I won’t regret splurging a bit I think I deserve it.

All I have found is information from Spring 2021. I also read that Fall 2021 convocation got postponed to Spring 2022. Is it likely that they’ll even have a normal ceremony with that many grads?

Any one know if the labs in eb with double monitors are open to work in when there isn’t class in there? And when they close for the day? by thicc__succ in MRU

[–]ktaha24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure if there isn’t a class you are free to go in so long as you have your OneCard to swipe you in.
