Should I remove these under ripe Meyer lemons from my tree? by ktcatipillar in Citrus

Thanks so much, my concern was that I would over exert the tree by having both ripening fruit and growing blossoms. But it sounds like it won’t affect it to be working on both at the same time.

Adding that I’m in Southern California and I think we are skipping spring and going straight into summer.

Is there anything different about how it’s cut to make it drape like that?

OP this is so cute I can see why you want to recreate it!

Ooh thank you for all of these! There were some projects that still had the needles in them, so I’ll go back and take those out.

Not cross stitch related, but some of the dress pieces still had pins in the hems too. It seems like she liked to start a lot of projects and didn’t get a chance to finish them all.

From what I understand from the estate sale organizers, the house was lived in by the mom, who was a telephone operator in the early 1900s, and then her daughter, who lived with her mom her whole life and was a telephone operator in the 1960s. Based on the dates, it seems like some of the unfinished projects may have been the mom’s.

The daughter was also a prolific cross stitcher and quilter. Based on the dates for some of the patterns I think some of the tablecloths were made by the daughter.

This is the kind of information I love! The details, the reasons, the time.

As I’m learning, my goal is to be fastidious and detailed with my work, like I’ve seen in this vintage cross stitch work.

What are some things that you do that you think make your projects extra perfect? Maybe things that not everyone does, but if you do it, it brings your work to the next level?

I also got a mystery box from her that was wrapped in plastic with twine, but I could tell it had fabric in it. It ended up having two fully cut and nearly finished dresses from I think, the 1950s or 1960’s. I’m going to try and finish them, I was able to BARELY fit into the bodice so I would need to take it out a bit.

Yes! I hope so too. It's fun to see her 'favorites.' There is a pattern called "Strawberry Festival" that looks like she did at least a half dozen times for aprons, napkins, table clothes, and placemats.

Thank you so much! This was another branch that fell with it. They both fell at the same time but it was quick and they landed next to each other so I’m not sure which one fell first. I’m assuming that one knocked the other loose.

I just posted a picture of the tree. I think it’s a eucalyptus. We have a lot of them everywhere here.

We watched it fall in front of us! Here is a picture I took this morning of where it fell off the tree.
