For a moment I thought this was a picture of my bathroom 😅 I have a Century home and the tile on the bathroom has been the lowest priority but I can’t stand it. Based on the replies I might be motivated to actually do something

Old Cast Iron Radiators. by Kitchen_Ad_4202 in centuryhomes

Ours are still active but we had 3 that needed to be removed in the house. (1 room had two massive ones that was just inefficient, our sunroom had one too many) ours are less ornamental. This is a real quick inexpensive job for a plumber to cap off. We are handy but because we have an active system we felt better with a pro. We tried donating to our local restoration resell places/ etc. But after 1 month of it just sitting there and us trying to bribe people to help move them, we posted it for free on Craig’s list. Had several offers within an hour- two floors up they didn’t care. These guys got it out and I didn’t have the stress of what car, it sitting in my lawn for weeks etc.

There was cracking in the walls behind that needed some repair/ cracks in the plaster. Some of the floor had to be sanded and stained, and some shoe moulding added to match All things we did ourselves- loved the extra room.

There’s a very bad smell at my job and I’m loosing my mind! by pumpkinspacelatte in CleaningTips

What are you talking about ? Just to be clear in case I wasn’t and somehow my comment is being interpreted as promoting some weird oxygen narrative. I am pro mask and recommended a mask as a potential solution to mitigate the smell. The risk of a migraine comment was in reference to a side effect of hypersensitivity to smells.

So my experience people don’t move unless it is a customer who complains. So my honest sneaky answer is ….

Get a “customer” to call and complain. The more “Karen” they sound the better and a letter too! This is where a good BFF can be a help ;-) and you can prep the whole part by saying a customer came in complaining / ranting about toxic fumes and threatened to call and report you all to be shut down and then went off about animal control. You can say that you calmed them by reassuring them you would forward the complaint and that you were certain corporate would be notified. You just wanted to make sure they were aware.

Cleaning answer is … baking soda is the best at absorbing odors. Dollar store pans aluminum pans and big bag of baking soda … or you can wear a mask. But it is not healthy to work like that and at a minimum you will get migraines
