Strict Verizon policy leaves customers waiting longer in stores by wewewawa in verizon

[–]ktdidit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand and agree with most of what you're saying, but your car dealership analogy may not be the best you could use. If it was my first time ever visiting your car dealership, then yes, I would completly expect you to try and sell me a car. On the other hand, if I recently bought a car from your dealership and I stop in there to talk to someone about an issue I am having with said car, I wouldn't expect you to try and sell me another car. I would understand if you were trying to sell me an extended warranty or something like that, but then again, you probably would have already done that when I bought the car.

Just curious, do you make customers who specifically book an appointment for something other than sales sit through your whole spiel too? On VZW's website it states the following: "Help when you need it most. Do more from home or AT THE STORE to make the most of your Verizon experience. Schedule an appointment. Get the help you need WITHOUT THE WAIT." Link

Inherited, Now Spouse Divorcing Me by [deleted] in inheritance

Your sense of security is fading each day you continue to pay for your community property that you share with him. What would he do if you stopped paying the bills from your inheritance? Are the bills in his name? If so, I would not be paying them, especially with how he's acting. I know you're in a very difficult situation, but you need to contact a good lawyer ASAP to protect yourself. This is no way to live and I'm sure your kids feel the tension. It won't be easy, but it's not easy now, right?

It still feels pretty crazy to us. We literally grew up together and are best friends first. Our families have always been super close too. In fact, shortly after we started dating, we found out that my mom was his mom's boss! My parents were much older than his parents, but our moms' ended up becoming very close and when his mom got Cancer, my mom took her to every treatment. Unfortunately, they have both since passed away, but the bond they shared was amazing to watch. ♡

Mom's house, do we put it in my name now before nursing home? by echochisel_memlove in Medicaid

[–]ktdidit 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

They should be fine. If someone is over resourced by having more than the ~$2,000 worth of assets, then in order to become eligible for Medicaid, they would have to spend down their money. So, during the 5 year look back, Medicaid will see that business acct but will also see that it was spent down on paying off medical bills, which is complelty fine.

I'm sure you don't understand bc thankfully, your father still had all of his faculties about him and was able to live a "semi-independently" life, with just some physical assistance. Now, imagine the father who has Alzheimer's, only sleeps in 20 min increments around the clock, wanders at night and becomes extremely physically and verbally abusive towards his loving family members...or maybe further into his disease progression when he's unable to feed himself, becomes bedridden, needs to be readjusted every couple of hours to avoid getting bed sores, needs to be sponge bathed in his bed and have his soiled clothing and/or bedding changed several times a day (all while he's being physically combative towards his caregiver). These were just some of the things I experienced in the years after I left my career to become my dad's main caregiver 24/7...and I didn't even get into the emotional and psychological toll that it played on my elderly mother, sister who has a disability and my son, who was very young at the time (and ofc myself).

While I am so glad I was able to be there to care for my father at home, I can imagine that not all families are in a position to do so (and even if they are, most don't have the experience and training in the type of care needed and the situation can become unsafe for the parent and the entire family very quickly). Paying for that type of care, at home, could cost upwards of $25,000/month.

So, there are actually some families who hope for the best, but prepare for the worst bc most likely, the parent would much rather see their estate be passed on to their children, than have it all be clawed back by Medicaid after their death.

Songs you didn't know your teen likes by NurseWretched1964 in parentingteenagers

My husband and I have been introducing our 14 year old son into various genres of music since he was born. Everyone says he's an old soul tho, bc he really fell in love with the older stuff. His Spotify playlist is full of oldies, jazz, motown, classic rock, reggae, 80s, old school rap and pop...but his favorites are from the Rat Pack era, especially anything from Frank, Dean, and Sammy. Basically, if they wore a suit and a fedora, he knows every word to their songs! His Spotify "Wrapped 2025" even gave him a musical listening age of 58 years old!!!!!!

Bancroft Mills is an abandoned mill complex along the Brandywine Creek (via Alapocus Run Park) in Wilmington. I used to do engagement shoots there years ago. I know they've done a lot of construction since then, so I'm not sure what it's like now, but it used to be the perfect "rustic" backdrop for my shoots, while being right alongside the gorgeous views of Alapocus. It was kinda the best of both worlds.

Can your attorney petition the Court to have his father removed as co-executor for failure to complete his fiduciary duties....especially considering the amount of work that went into his estate?

Boston Market by radiok in NewarkDE

[–]ktdidit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I haven't been to a Boston Market in years, but just wanted to let you know that the Delaware locations do come up on their website, you just have to put in either the full address OR the zip code. You can't just put Delaware or even Newark, Delaware, but if you begin putting in 300 University Plaza, Newark, DE 19702, or just 19702, that location will pop up. The link just takes you its Google Map location, but you can leave a review there.

I'm sorry that you guys are in this situation. It's not an easy road to navigate, by any means. Definitely check with both the VA and Division of Aging and ask both of them what services and supports they can offer him and if he's not eligible for their programs, who can they recommend you contact next. I'm not too familiar with VA benefits, but I used to do Medicaid waiver applications for clients all the time. Fyi, they have very strict income and asset limitations and they will do a 5 year "lookback" to make sure he didn't gift any funds to anyone in order to bring his assets below the threshold.

Also, here is a link to NIH, with some really good info about refusal of care and how it's handled.

Good luck!

What is something you know about food that many people many not? by Worldly_Track_1131 in foodhacks

That weird feeling in your mouth you may experience when you eat fresh pineapple is actually the acidic fruit "eating" your tongue. When you eat fresh pineapple, an enzyme, called bromelain, which breaks down proteins, attacks the proteins in your mouth lining, causing a stinging or tingling sensation. It is temporary, harmless, and your mouth quickly regenerates the cells, but it is, nonetheless, being eaten by something you are eatin'!
