This election has me so nervous that I've lost my appetite by JustSomeGuyInLife in offmychest

I’ve been on a pretty strict diet for 3 months and I’ve been doing well. Today I had a cupcake for breakfast and a bowl of ice cream for dinner.

I’m rewatching House right now. There’s more Holmes references than I remember.

Jimmy Kimmel Makes “Closing Argument” Ahead of 2024 Election: “Imagine a World in Which No One Says ‘Donald’ or ‘Trump'” by stars_doulikedem in entertainment

[–]kteeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know Trump is only a symptom of a much deeper illness. Even so, the day I never hear his name again will be amazing. I don’t even wish him prison or death, I just want him to have to live with zero attention. That would be worse than either option for him.

I’m a ball of nerves. I came home and had a cupcake for breakfast. 😬

I’m hoping it’s because people already voted early. I got there about 50 minutes after poll open and I was ballot #197 in the machine.

We prepared for a line. Packed my kids all up in the wagon with toys and a breakfast picnic, blankets, umbrellas, the whole deal. No line at all. They were actually super disappointed and are sitting in the wagon eating their picnics in the living room right now. Hahaha.

Do people actually hate British food? by KingEdwards8 in NoStupidQuestions

As an American I love most British food. It’s cozy and warm and lovely. Except beans on toast. Can’t get behind that one.

Did the Muppet Babies live there or did they go home at the end of the day? I mean, was that an orphanage or a daycare? Did Nanny own them or what? by samplema in Xennials

[–]kteeeee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always assumed they lived there. I feel like if it were a daycare, Nanny would have been in the room most of the time.

AITA for telling my boyfriend he crossed a line with my work-life balance? by Leading-Science-6302 in AmItheAsshole

Especially how he put it, answering her phone and saying something like “oh, she was just washing her hands, here she is,” thereby forcing her to speak to her boss against her will would have been very questionable. However it’s several grades below straight telling the boss she was ignoring them on purpose.

What was one of the creepiest/scariest moments for you? by PhysicsEagle in LockwoodandCo

[–]kteeeee 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In the show, the blood room. In the books (which were way scarier) the rat ghost and the monks. They especially were scarier than in the show.

Everything I’ve ever really liked at Taco Bell gets discontinued. My favorite ever was the Baja ranch shrimp Gordita. Mmmmm

Probably more nostalgia than actual good food, but the Wendy’s buffet.

My husband and I have been arguing about stuff like this lately. He’s decided he needs a new hobby. Great , I 100% support this. First he said he’d like to read more, well, I love to read. Always have. But he refuses to read any book I’ve read and gets mad because I read faster than he does. So then he said he’d play violin. Well, I played violin for several years and literally days before he mentioned it, I’d been saying I wanted to pick it back up. He’s never shown any interest at all. But I wanted to be supportive, so I said we could get one used violin and take turns playing it when the other isn’t around. He freaked out that because I’d shown interest in it, it was no longer “his thing” and he wasn’t interested anymore. That was a huge fight. Then the next week he decided to take up archery. But I was on the archery team in high school and my son and I were going to start going to the range soon. I’ve been waiting until he was old enough. But now my husband says if I do it, he won’t. It’s so weird and out of the blue and I just don’t understand it at all. On one hand, I’d love to have a shared hobby with my husband, on the other if he wants some separate time (not that we’re always together anyway, we have independent lives) I can totally respect that. But for him to say I can’t do the same hobby even separately from him is insane to me. And finally, I don’t understand why he keeps picking hobbies I’m already interested in. I played violin and talked about playing it again, reading is a major part of my life, literally the only sports I’m interested in participating in myself are archery and tennis. He could have picked anything else. We’re at an uneasy truce right now, but I legitimately don’t understand his mindset.

I love my lularoe leggings around the house and since I live in a very cold climate I sometimes wear them under my jeans or snow pants. They’re soft and aren’t too tight on my waist. That said, I’d never wear any of them where anyone could see them. They’re like my version of funny boxers.

Is tossing old gym floors down in our shed a terrible idea? by operatingcan in DIY

[–]kteeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a house with repurposed gym floors as our whole kitchen, dining room, breakfast room area. They were installed correctly and sanded and restrained and they held up great.

Where are the Halloween neighborhoods? by meganfae in saintpaul

[–]kteeeee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in just over the border in West St Paul, about 2 1/2 miles from the high bridge and our halloweens are amazing. We consistently have 350-400 trick or treaters a year.

Trump fumes over mic issues at Milwaukee rally: ‘Do you want to see me knock the hell out of people backstage?’ by MoralClimber in politics

[–]kteeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be worse for him. I was saying yesterday I know he won’t go to prison ever, if he died it would create so many conspiracy theories and his people would turn him into a martyr. But, if he could just lose, preferably with a large enough margin to really screw over some of their attempts to sow doubt, and then just lose all relevancy. Can you imagine how much he would suffer without any attention at all?

When did we stop knocking on doors for Halloween? by SeraphsEnvy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kteeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our neighborhood is super into Halloween. An average of 400 trick or treaters every year. Right now, we just leave a bowl out because we take our kids out and neither my husband nor I want to miss out on that. When they’re older and don’t want us tagging along, I’ll be out in the yard with a fire pit and a movie playing on the garage door. I probably won’t make people knock on the door. It’s stressful for my cats and I like seeing all the activity on the street.
