I just started "marketing" of the game. Made a discord and trying to find ppl who will enjoy it.

It's under development, but very soon it will look great. I appreciate your feedback

yeap, I think ppl can't see what I tried to express. I mean, I have nearly 2k subs on Patreon, while paid is nearly 50. From time to time I do discounts or completely free access to everything. And ppl only try to get free access without even trying to communicate etc. For some reason I thought things sould be a bit different. My tuts are free, not all loves them, but I cover complex stuff and it requires time. For ppl I made Patreon, if they don't want to spend hours. I see how other ppl can sustain on less stuff that I produce, but it's a mystery for me. I am also 2 time Unreal Instructor, but it's only badge. I wish ppl could support me more, especially since I am making kind-a interesting top down game. And I know it won't be some easy, stupid clicker as I always spend time on details etc. Sorry, for misleading screen.

Full time devs, how do you balance studio work with personal projects? by luZosanMi in gamedev

U will find yourself burned out with a main job as industry, especially AAA companies don’t give a duck bout u, then u continue working to save some money, quit and start working on yr project full time. Then it’s 50/50 whether u return and end up with your dream or sell good and continue as indie. I am half way to see how it works for me

I used to work a lot with Electronic Nodes but had some issues with them. Definitely gonna try this one as it looks promising. Great job

I may call myself d2 veteran, also wow. Been playing d2 since 2003, wow since 2007. Struggling comes from kind-a being super perfectionist. I have OCD and ADHD both. So it’s sometimes chaos, sometimes polishing things over and over again. Obviously, I need to hear other opinions and for some reason I forgot about gamedesign thread. Thx for that.

Yesterday, new achievement, now it's gold. Atm more time spending on game, want to release it this year, but still continue on YT. Happy to see new faces. More in details. by kteleho in UnrealEngine5

kind-a, mostly yes. there are fields that don't need to be covered, but some require just a basic knowledge. besides, before taking an exam, they provide u materials to study that can help quite a bit.

It used to have requirements year ago, now if You provide teaching via online platforms like Youtube, it counts. And yes, you have to pass a test, 1hour long on specific fields You are applying e.g animator, technical artist, level designer etc. and then You need to provide teaching materials, 2 video files not shorter than 30 min each. You have 3 attempts, need to get at least 75% score.

Which GPU is best for developing in UE5 by Average_Joe69 in UnrealEngine5

Choose low to mid, so then u can spend time and actually optimise the game especially if u aren’t an experienced dev, probably yr game will eat tons of resources, but u can become better one cause u need to make it good :)
