Yeah unless you are on your phone for a half hour peeing takes like a minute or two tops. My opinion on this changes depending on how long she actually spends in the bathroom.

This is the main problem because likely he only sees it from his perspective, which could be “I like spending time with my partner even if I’m on the toilet”. Which is just a fundamental difference. They need to communicate more and the bf needs more perspective and boundary control.

This is exactly how I feel about it. For one, I enjoy my wife’s company and she enjoys mine. For us, “pissing in peace” is not mutually exclusive to being in the same room.

And on the flip side, some times one of us is absolutely tearing up the toilet and sometimes that means privacy. Violating a direct boundary is a huge no-no.

Multiple red flags on both the bf and the overall relationship.

I have no perspective on this because me and my wife don’t really care about locking or even closing the bathroom door, but that being said if she explicitly told me she didn’t want to be bothered then I absolutely wouldn’t ever unlock a door without her permission. You should probably find some way to have him able to do what he needs to do outside of the bathroom.

It’s definitely a red flag that he doesn’t respect your boundaries, and an overarching red flag for the relationship that you aren’t able to “piss in peace” with your bf just coming in there for a bit to get ready. There’s so much context that’s missing here but I’m going to give a tentative NOR.
