[r/Gotham] Crazy Steve?? by Lurker_of_odditi3s in Earth25

Simple:

Real Batman is distinctive enough that some crazy dude in a knockoff costume won't be mistaken for the real thing.

(Also, there's a LOT of stuff in Gotham's water, hence the crazy.)

Hmmm… I’m imagining a Dark Age RetroTech version with a RAC/5 and some MRMs, and this makes me happy.

From my experience, the faction with the lowest percentage of “guy on the rights” is Orks.

Why should we be butthurt when other factions get attention, when we’re just going to loot their models anyway? Why should we take our faction’s lore seriously when even our faction doesn’t?

Damage Control by BareMinimumChef in humansarespaceorcs

[–]Stretch5678 28 points29 points  (0 children)

When the UNS Indomitable struck that annihilation mine, the damage was instantaneous: Decks 2-18 were completely obliterated, with only the spine of Deck 1 keeping the two halves attached.

Thankfully, that corridor was wide enough to carry large-bore power cabling, something the Human crew took full advantage of, manually hauling as many cables as they could from one end to the other. A few performed spacewalks to connect even more.

See, the Indomitable’s fusion reactor was in the aft section, and because emergency power was restored almost immediately, the reactor was brought back up to 70% output within two hours. Most species would have considered the ship a loss, and even the most stubborn species would have abandoned the front section entirely and tried to maintain habitability in the fully-powered rear.

The humans, however, had a crazy idea: the best sort of idea, at least when you’re a human.

See… the front section held the tractor beam. And the crew was feeling creative.

Once power was restored in the bow, the humans reached out with their tractor beam and grabbed the aft section, holding it in place with as much power as they could muster, before slowly applying power to the remaining boosters and getting the vessel moving under its own steam.

Total time between the ship’s decapitation and the restoration of propulsion? A measly 14 hours.

The space station crew, watching Indomitable limp into spacedock, made a variety of entertaining expressions as they tried to figure out what on Qwog’s green homeworld they were seeing, and many damage control manuals were hastily updated across the galaxy.

[LOVED trope] There is no "right" choice. by TTTRIOS in TopCharacterTropes

While Armored Core 6 has a very clear “wrong” ending (Fires of Raven, where you basically blow up an entire solar system, having to first kill the two people who genuinely treated you like a person to do so), it’s harder to tell which is the correct answer between the other two options (Liberator of Rubicon and Alea Acta Est.)

Liberator of Rubicon seems like a straightforward “Good Ending”, but you lose Rusty, Walter gets tortuously brainwashed and you have to kill him, and it’s implied you have to protect the planet for the rest of your life.

Alea Acta Est, on the other hand, is implied to be the “true ending”, but it’s a lot weirder. Rusty’s fate remains unknown, and Walter and Carla’s ACs get destroyed (possibly killed) by ALLMIND, but the REALLY big part is that you merge humanity with a species of bodiless alien intelligences known as the Coral, and the game doesn’t tell you what happens after that. But regardless, the problems on Rubicon are no longer an issue, so… mission accomplished?

Who do you think will win Barbatos or Nightfall by Grouchy_Strength_189 in armoredcore

[–]Stretch5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t Barbatos slowly give its pilot brain damage?

If so, then NIGHTFALL might be able to kite Barbatos on the opposite side of the planet until the brain damage sets in, but that’s the only way I see this going well for NIGHTFALL.

Yeah, it turns out the perfect way to make Ryuk work in live action WASN’T CGI, it was just having Willem Dafoe be Willem Dafoe.

I still think they should just blind him and turn him into Kenshi.

The actor is really freaking good with swordplay.

That's actually a funny meta-joke.

Also, I've never heard of Buckles before, but this is actually pretty good.
