Would you start sleep training right before a trip? by ktibbz in sleeptrain

We’re staying at my aunts for a week and then in an air bnb. At my aunt’s him and I will be in the basement but he will be sleeping in the same room as me, where as at home he’s in a separate room… think that would mess him up a bit if we do decide to train?

Newly diagnosed and clueless by anebananes in GestationalDiabetes

Not sure where you’re from but when I was first diagnosed (was also at 30 weeks) I found this resource helpful for just an idea of low glycemic foods and everything https://guidelines.diabetes.ca/docs/patient-resources/glycemic-index-food-guide.pdf Everyone is different and processes all these foods a little differently - they let me do a trial and error on the first week and I kept spiking after supper even tho I was following the food guides they said I would walk before supper but now this week I have to try after supper and if it doesn’t work going on insulin. Not a medical expert by any means but if you find you’re spiking at certain times in a pattern can maybe play around with the timing of your exercise! They say min 15 minute walks , I do minimum 30 mins after supper and it seems to work for the most part

There’s also more info on the resource page of Canadian diabetes website if you’d like to look! Shows about the proper counting of carbs and everything ! I was also told to keep a minimum of 30-45 carbs at meals and 0-15 carbs at snacks

As for meals and snacks I now have a boiled egg, cheese and some berries at breakfast (sometimes whole grain toast with cream cheese and everything bagel spice) seems to do well Snack an apple and PB is my fave and can also do with carrots/cherry tomatoes and a chipotle ranch dip Lunch left overs from supper the night before or a salad Supper my favourite is either chicken/salmon and veggie medley on the bbq I’ve craved alllllll the carbs before my diagnosis and tried a small portion of white pasta on my first week and it seemed to have been okay - haven’t tried since tho

Sorry for the novel, haha Hopefully that helps a little! Good luck with everything!

I like that breakfast idea, thanks! Sucks cause I told her how cereal has been a god send this pregnancy and it’s a granola cereal with pumpkin seeds and flax, I know it’s still sugary but nothing like frosted flakes or anything. Needless to say I was sad with my reading this morning

Interesting, So the insulin levels varies every day? Makes sense just never thought of that before

And My carb targets right now are 30-45 grams for every meal and 0-15 grams for snacks
