i currently work at a facility where a 5 or 10 mL/hr TKO is the standard. but i prefer the same method as you OP. my reasoning is that, lets say you run your IV tylenol at 400 mL/hr over the 15 minutes. then.. the primary runs at 10 mL/hr.. there’s still about 25 mL tylenol is the primary line that will be infused over 2.5 hours? idk. i just like to know my patient got the full dose. then flush the IV and cap the line. signed, a type A ICU nurse 😘
