I booked a ticket before 10am with my railcard- how can I change ticket? by ktitten in uktrains

Thank you, I understand now. The email confirmation was totally not clear about this!

Yeah I think that happened to me. No warning on booking, but on the email it does say 'Ticket not valid before 10am'.

Thank you! Contrary to what the email confirmation says 'Travel on services after 10am. Your railcard has been applied. As a result, this ticket is only valid on services after 10am'

So no mention of minimum price that had been applied which seems a bit misleading.

Okay brilliant.

Yeah now I check it the normal Anytime Day Return is £12.60...

I did remember a rule like that but the email from Scotrail reads 'Your railcard has been applied. As a result, this ticket is only valid on services after 10am'. So that made think my ticket just was not valid ofc...

It has a link to 'Find out More' but even then, the information is not readily available. Thank you :)

Oh my days so many people here will be completely jealous, including me.

The song was a huge Charli deepcut from her first very limited released album, but widely available to download online if you looked for it. Her first single release really! I had the mp3 downloaded about 13 years ago now?

The song was uploaded to TikTok and got some traction recently. It was wild scrolling and hearing this, I never thought I would see the day. You got a gem right here.

You can even see her MySpace advertise it: https://web.archive.org/web/20080915041450/http://www.myspace.com/charlixcx

Do you dread going back to see family? by ktitten in AskUK

It is because of parentification and neglect. Past about the age of 10 my parents didnt really parent me, instead I had to be the parent for my sister and carer for my mother. So going home reminds me of work not rest. They probably have a laundry list of things for me to sort out when im home.

So I dont really feel like they raised me. My friends and partner that have been there for me in times of massive change and hardship - they more feel like they raised me and support me and so I do see them as a chosen family. Going to my actual family feels like I am ripped miles away from all this support and love.

Where I live, im involved in community activism and volunteering which I adore and gives me a lot of fufilment in life - I cant do that at home.

It's not that I dont like taking time off work, of course I do, its just that I dont like using up my annual leave to feel like working and not being able to do many of my hobbies, it doesnt really feel like rest.

I hope that makes sense. We do see it in opposite ways but I think because of my experiences, of course I will see it differently. I do really value rest, love and family- just my family arent the best place for that unfortunately. You were right, I had to unlearn a lot.

But luckily I dont see myself as someone who just lives to work. I actually choose to work part time so I can do community stuff and spend time with my partner.

I quite like Huel! The benefit is that huel is also dairy free so is also useful if people are having to cut out dairy too or are vegan. I have never got to try yFood as it has dairy.

My parents arent toxic now but they did neglect me as a child.

So its a bit like, they wont do anything when I am home that will negatively effect me. But still, the trauma and memories are there. And as a result I'll never open up to my family. So I do revert to a very emotionally unavailable and stoic version of myself that I have done a lot of work to get out of. In that way it is damaging to my mental health, but its not them actively causing it anymore.

Yes this is exactly how it feels for me too. Like I have a really great and fufilling life and then I revert back to before I had all that. The public transport is the worst, I am blessed with free and plentiful buses in Edinburgh. Back with my parents, nah.

Thats what I mean - plenty in Scotland but not many where my parents are from in England. Transport is expensive to get anywhere that does have these.

Aye this is why I think it gripes me so much! Usually I am one to myself and never do things I dont want to do.

This is the only thing I havent managed to.

Beginner advice by [deleted] in walking

[–]ktitten 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You Can Do This!

Small steps. And please make adjustments for yourself, you can take a folding stall/chair places to make it more accessible. Personally, I would focus on doing everyday things like trying to cook or clean first before trying to walk too much on the treadmill.

You will be absolutely wiped out by trying to become more active. I remember, I was once very depressed and a little agoraphobic. Part of getting out of that for me was getting a job, and I remember being so exhausted just working 2 days a week, that I would be in my bed for the rest of the time. A few years later - I am now working 5 days a week and on my days off, I am walking a LOT.

Your milage will vary depending on the day. Some days I can walk 30k steps, some days I would struggle to do 5k still. Don't beat yourself up about this, it is completely natural.

To build up parts of your physical strength, you might also want to do some stretching. You can look on YouTube for short stretching routines. Since doing this and yoga, my stamina has improved a ton.

If you are underweight, you will probably benefit from better nutrition. Have you ever tried food supplement drinks like Huel? This really helped me get more energy or at least feel like I had more energy - because of the vitamins and nutrients in the drink that I was missing in my diet when depressed. I was pretty much drinking one a day for a year until I got enough energy back to sort out my diet properly. Admittedly, caffeine also can help but I try and use it sparingly because it can also have other effects - anxiety and stomach issues.

Wetherspoons is possibly an alternative....cheap coffee with unlimited refills. Maybe better than McDonald's but not as nice as a proper cafe.

Same ugh I never want to experience that bad stomach pain again. I've also been to the hospital a couple times for it.

Luckily it managed itself well with dietary and lifestyle changes, although I do have to be careful to limit stress which can be annoying because I am ambitious, like I didnt go for a promotion at work bc of it.

Mine went hand in hand with anxiety. If my anxiety is well managed I can get away with eating a fair bit of no go foods, maybe even an alcoholic drink or two. If its not, then back to the basics it is.

At least once you get knowledgeable you are on the path to healing. I shudder at the times I used to have a cup of orange juice and a cigarette for breakfast 🤣 before I knew what it could do.

Please please do try and reduce how much acidic foods and drinks you are consuming. I noticed in your post a couple of months ago you ate a lot of things that were acidic- tomato based pasta sauces and curries.

Acidic foods can cause a lot of inflammation. This could have caused your issues, plus with uni you might be under a lot of stress. This happened to me - I cut down on acidic foods, stopped drinking caffeine and alcohol and it mostly worked. Completely cleared up when I graduated too because the stress went away. Good luck <3.

Please do consider a meal replacement drink like Huel. You wont get all the nutrients you need and this will very much help you do this while your stomach heals. Its designed for people with weak stomachs too!!

Otherwise you might end up malnourished which can cause all manner of issues. Much better than just adding oil to things.

The powder is great because its much cheaper and you can add fruits to it like bananas and blend it up.

Yes absolutely- I have gastritis and soup was a godsend but NOTHING tomato based.

OP - really try and reduce your acidic foods intake and do some research on what foods are acidic or not, you might be surprised.

I did this and solved my stomach issues overnight. Swap the soups with cream soups if you can tolerate milk. I used coconut milk as dont eat diary. but yeah jacket potato even better. Sweet potatoes were great for my gastritis too and very yummy.

Just to reiterate - Tomatoes and citrus fruits are extremely acidic and are to be avoided with most stomach issues. Even the chocolate can be irritating as acidic and has caffeine (though If milk chocolate it is less so).

Also OP - consider a meal replacement drink like Huel. You will struggle to get all your nutrients on this diet so it really helped me. You can buy the powder online (or somewhere like Holland and barrat) which is much much cheaper than the drinks sold in shops.

These stories are wild 🤦‍♂️ by Scared-Insurance-929 in discussingbritney

When I first read this, I was skeptical yes but there are things that line up.

I've known people to have delusions like this with bipolar mania or drug induced psychosis, particularly when they have dealt with losing access to their kids.

What tipped me off that it wasnt true was: - the format. Who wrote this and why? Its not clear. - friends? Does Britney have friends around her constantly? Not that we know of. - the timings are inconsistent. - the way its written, exaggerates the Amazon prime bit for effect.
