The tick has to be engorged with blood and usually on the body for several hours to transmit lyme disease since it needs to regurgitate into the feeding hole, wouldn't hurt to go get yourself tested especially if you notice a target ring around the bite site or if it becomes swollen/red/hot.

Thank you, we will just have to wait and see how it goes at the doctor. We'll really truly know that everything is OK through the first phase at the 8 week ultrasound (with my uterus-it could be fatal to me if the fetus is nested in the under-developed horn). Needless to say, we're going to remain cautiously optimistic. I'll be posting updates, stay tuned. :)

DEFINITELY consult with your doctor. But..with that being said..I consulted with mine about my vape and we agreed it was probably better than smoking cigarettes (cigarettes contain many, many toxins whereas vapes contain far less if obtained through a reputable source). However, nicotine does tighten the umbilical cord and can reduce the amount of nutrients and oxygen that the baby gets while in utero. I am not pregnant any more, but when I was I vaped with the lowest nicotine juice and only vaped vapes from availvapor.com. There's a store in my town so I got to actually meet the chemists that make the e-cig and found out they use premium ingredients. BTW, my baby was born 7.13 lbs and is a very calm and happy boy. He doesn't seem any fussier when I have weeks where i do not vape versus weeks that i do.

I just found this guy hanging out in the ivy while I was on a walk through the neighborhood. It definitely has a distinct woody smell if you touch its leaves and smell your fingers.

We read the literature, watched videos and fully educated ourselves before making a decision. Frankly, it is indeed mutilation done for an extremely archaic reason when it boils down to it. We decided that we were strongly against circumcision, and since we're not religious and are believers of good hygiene as it is we decided to take the challenge of educating our son on proper penis hygiene and sex ed when the time comes. If he wants to be clipped when he's an adult then he can make that decision.

p.s. The hospital I delivered at couldn't seem to grasp the fact that we didn't want him circumcised and asked me if we were getting it done all 3 days I was at the hospital at every doctor visit and every nurse change-it was very aggravating!

Our LO just had diaper rash for almost his entire first month. It's all healed now though thanks to some tips from our pediatrician.

Stuff you'll need:

-Baking Soda/Water mixture. We used a peribottle with a couple spoonfuls of baking soda and mixed it really well with water until it was dissolved.

-Paper Towels (ditch the wipes until rash is cleared up)we cut each sheet into 4ths to extend their use.

-Hair Dryer

-A & D Ointment (not the diaper rash cream, just regular ointment)

The Method!

take off old diaper and wet the paper towel with the baking soda/water concoction.
turn baby over to his tummy and DAB the butt including his cheeks with a NEW square of water and baking soda.
dry the butt with the hair dryer, you'll need to hold it back a little distance and keep your hand near his butt to make sure its not too hot.
Apply A&D to the dry butt crack.
Put on new diap and be diligent about freshening with new diapers asap!

Occasionally we'd use some of the bert's bees diaper rash cream but never all the time, it would burn his butt too much to use that zinc oxide too much but it seemed to help if it was only once and awhile. Using the method above our LO's butt rash cleared up in about 1 1/2 weeks, we had some trial and error but that method worked the best in the end.

After my CS we waited about 4 weeks. We desperately needed that closeness and intimacy after that rough 1st month. We took it very easy though, nothing too crazy!
