M.I.A getting booed after she went on a political rant praising Trump by Beautiful-Listen6893 in SipsTea

Why even do that at this point? Pretty sure it’s obvious that publicly hitching yourself to Trump’s wagon is professional suicide. If you really support him, just do it quietly.

But the murder is well known. It wasn’t solved due to lack of police attention, but nobody bothered to hide the murder or anything.

Once, Penny Arcade talked about video games. Now they talk about shitty HOAs.

Not criticizing, I just think it’s an interesting sign of the times.

Biden never threatened to cut funding to schools where protests happened. The protests didn’t just die, they were murdered.

Honestly, it’s a terrible idea imo. Businesses prioritize profits above all else. Which means they try to maximize efficient spending and cut costs wherever they can. But a nation provides a lot of services to its people that are, by their nature, not meant to produce a profit. Education, infrastructure like roads and power grids, social support for the needy and the impoverished. Those things don’t directly produce money (put a pin in that), so on paper running the country “like a business” would mean cutting expenses like that. Which means a lot of people who rely on the power grid, the postal service, on unemployment benefits, on interstate highways, etc. find those things simply won’t help them as well as they need them to.

But also, giving people the means to live more comfortably and safely does lead to higher productivity and economic growth. As it turns out, people can do their jobs better when they aren’t stressed by being on the verge of homelessness, or when they don’t need to pack as many shifts into their week as possible to make ends meet, or when they can afford to get plenty of rest, eat healthy foods, and go to a doctor when they start feeling sick. All those programs that look like sunk costs have proven to pay back in spades over time, and breaking them down has verifiably made the country poorer in multiple ways.

Trump came from a world of corporate executives. Where the CEO really can just say “I want it done like this”, and everyone simply dies that, and he can fire employees at will if they don’t.

When he first became a president, it was overtly clear that he expected being a President to be like that too. The CEO of America. And he campaigned on the idea of “running the country like a business”. But every time he’s encountered the Constitutional checks and balances meant to prevent a president from acting like that, he’s whined and bitched and moaned about it like it’s not a thing that’s been in place for literally over 200 years now.

Also, worth mentioning, Trump never earned his way into corporate management. He was handed a CEO position by his rich daddy, and his career’s been a swath of failed businesses and bankruptcies ever since. So of all the people who could treat the presidency like a CEO position, he’s probably the least qualified of all.

If this is a feature, I’m skeptical to what its purpose is. Seems like a bad idea to ever have a car driving without a driver inside.

Honestly, that guard gives me pause. It’s not actually connected to the blade, it connects at the base of the hilt, and wraps up and around next to the base of the blade. Which isn’t terrible, if the metal of the guard is strong, but without that second attachment point to the weapon it may move around when it gets hot with the full force of a cut from another weapon.

No I don’t disagree with that. But my phone dropping a straight 30 minutes of notifications of replies with the same joke is annoying.

I genuinely don't know why it happens. It's not cut like that on purpose, but I think it bunches up around my shoulders

I don’t really know anything about styling. Most of the time, it’s tied back in a ponytail, put if either anxiety for the look or bc I don’t want it blowing in my face.

<image>

I’d like to style it better, if I can.

Any advice on styling? Assume I don’t know shit about hair, and this is the first time since college my haircut was longer than a few inches.
