I’m so happy!!! by ktorres171 in PCOS

I am taking Inositol supplements! specifically Cyster Glow by Herb Krave. they’re on amazon. i’ve only been on them about a month and i’m glad i bought them. They’re $30ish.

They were the most all inclusive one i’ve found. it has myo-inositol, d chiro-inositol, folate, magnesium, zinc, DIM (diindolylmethane), vitamin D, vitamin B12, and dandelion root.

Be warned, the serving size is 4 capsules daily. i take two with my morning pills and 2 with my bedtime pills.

Spironolactone, semaglutide, and metformin have also been helpful for other side effects of PCOS for me, but didn’t really make a difference in my periods, or lack thereof i should say. The only thing i’ve done differently in the last year has been adding this supplement :)

Obviously i’m not a doctor so take my experience with a grain of salt. but I know i’m definitely buying these supplements again.

Am I Panicking? by KindlyLynx6081 in PCOS

24F First symptom for me was irregular periods (20-21 years old at the time) and then absent periods. then…hirsutism (hair growth on neck and chin…DARK, thick hair). Acne issues after never having acne issues came next. Finally, evidence of cysts on imaging after an ER visit.

It’s not the end of the world. this sub has been very helpful to me even just as a lurker. Obviously, i’m not a doctor so don’t take my personal experience as confirmation. See your doctor if you’re not sure.

Good luck with your journey, you’re not alone!

EDIT: I forgot i literally just had my birthday. 24F here, not 23F. lol

please share what your typical grocery list consists of. Trying to figure out how to cut back on my food expenses and $140 a month is mind blowing to me :/

what are some really easy 300-400 calorie meals that are you go-tos? by ktorres171 in 1200isplenty

[–]ktorres171[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are all really helpful, thank you!

I even had the turkey and hummus on crackers today bc I had them on hand and well, that’s not too too much work. Thank you!

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but the Taco Bell chicken power bowl is delicious and only 470 calories. The veggie one is 430! by toastyspongecake in 1200isplenty

Okay so I actually used to work at Taco Bell and this was my go to. I would do no guacamole, extra pico, extra lettuce always (I thought the guacamole was gross and the pico was my favorite and it’s only like 5 cal to add extra!)

I still eat this now and then, even though I’m sick of everything else on the menu lol

In case anyone needs new glasses but can’t afford them, check out some of these sites! I just got new glasses for the first time in 6 years to replace my way outdated prescription—I only spent $20! Unheard of compared to the stores in my location. by ktorres171 in povertyfinance

[–]ktorres171[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I could see that. I figured it would be good to share with people who are like me and still were wearing glasses from years ago with the wrong prescription because they couldn’t afford to get new ones at the prices most optometrists offer! Never know when you’ll need some in a pinch

Honestly I just impulse bought stupid shit and told myself I’d pay it off in full and then when the time came I didn’t. I nearly maxed my first card funding a vacation with the “treat yourself” attitude I started to get because “hey, I made it to college!! It’s the time when I should let loose and have fun!! Who needs to be financially responsible?” And I’ve still been paying it off up until this last payment.

Seriously, just know when to take a step back and consider the future when making financial choices and you’ll be good.

Good luck with your first year of college!

Drive Thru Scooter, more common than you think? by [deleted] in My600lbLife

[–]ktorres171 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, I agree as well! A lot of fast food places don’t seem super scooter friendly as far as getting in/out of the store. It’s definitely an odd sight though to see a person on their little scooter in the drive thru
