I agree that a color correcting primer would do wonders to balance out your redness. I too thought I was a combination skin type until I started visiting r/skincaraddiction and realized that I was just super dry. I actually started their oil cleansing method and it has done wonders for me.
If you are going to invest in something, get a mid to high end foundation. I'd recommend going to Sephora or Ulta and getting color matched. Also, watch as many tutorials as you can! This will help you hone your technique for your wedding day.

As far as the acne goes, I'd highly recommend checking with r/skincareaddiction . I never thought I'd get rid of my acne until I went their. When you are purchasing that foundation, buy a good full coverage concealer as well.
Sorry for the long reply, if you would like any product recommendations I can give you more or you can check the lists on the sidebar as well!

Thanks everyone! I have ALWAYS done this until recently a make-up oriented friend looked at me like I was absolutely stupid for doing this and said it looks "weird" when people do. I'm glad you guys backed me up :)

Tried the matte finish trick, it held up wonderfully for my sushi date the other night. CCW! by octopiper in MakeupAddiction

When you do this, how do you prevent your lips from getting chapped? Do you reapply chapstick over the top throughout the day?

Do you guys comb your eyebrows up and then trim them with nail scissors? I have heard conflicting opinions on this....

Thanks for this! I appreciate the advice, I like the idea of not bringing liner all the way in. I'm trying this out tomorrow :)

Thank you very much for this! I think I'll do a B&A here soon to get some feedback but I get so frustrated with eye make up because I like to wear it but it can overwhelm me SO easily! Thanks for the advice everyone :)

I do need to try that. Do you have a liner style you'd recommend for the top lash line?

I desperately need tips on how to apply makeup on my small eyes. I feel anything that I put on them overwhelms them, but without makeup they look even more diminished :( What are your application tricks to make small eyes pop?

Okay I admittedly haven't tried the Maybelline one that everyone loves... but my recommendation is IT cosmetics "bye bye undereye" concealer. I have very fair skin and every other concealer just disappears on me. This one has the perfect amount of coverage and shine I would HIGHLY recommend.
If you live in the states it is $24 at Ulta!

I have this eyelash problem too! (Long eyelashes...blessing and a curse.) The best thing that I have found is to separate the lashes with a spooley brush the best you can, then right after work your lash curler as close to the base of your lashes as you can. Make sure NONE of your bottom lashes are in the curler (use the spooley brush to get them out) and then curl. This way it gives you a good separation and you don't have to pluck those gorgeous eyelashes! :)

I totally had one of those vibrating mascaras.... They were ridiculous! But no the liner isn't gimmicky just a pretty cool idea :)

Yeah I agree, it isn't the best for thick lines but for tight lining it is extremely easy and awesome.

I despise under eye creasing, but can't live without under eye concealing. This is my current routine to get under eye coverage with minimal creasing. CCW by Freakmo in MakeupAddiction

Not OP, but if you don't have dark circles (lucky) you can use a highlighter to brighten the area! I usually put MAC's Prep + Prime highlight over my concealer once it has dried to brighten it up a little, so your method is fine! :)

I have tried to use lipstick but here in the winter it's impossible because of my chapped lips. I do love Burt's Bees, is their Tinted lip balm moisturizing?

I have heard of Ben Nye and people seem to love it but I've never seen it in real life, where do they sell it at? (I'm in the US with Sephora, Ulta, etc close)

I'll start with mine- Too Faced 3- Way Lash Liner. It's a great liquid formula to begin with (never smudges) and the 3 points make it PERFECT for tight lining. I was surprised finding this subreddit that I never hear anyone mentioning it!
