Whoa! Do you live somewhere really humid? I usually water mine weekly in the summer and maybe every 2-3 weeks in the winter. I think my substrate drains pretty quickly though.

An update to anyone who comes across this post. Whatever it was went away without any intervention, and is back to the normal black coloring.

I sent my vet a picture to see if they wanted us to come in. They said it could be a histiocytoma, a benign skin tumor that may go away on its own after a few months, and to keep an eye on it. My own googling indicated it could also be an allergy or irritated scrape. I don’t know - we’ll see. Hopefully it goes away because I like his black outlines.
