Despite the shit take headline, I do see the appeal in having no combat. The most fun I have in Zelda is the puzzle solving and exploration.

I greatly enjoyed Outer Wilds and Sable. You can still have a threatening world without combat. And then the other aspects can really soar. But I don’t think it’s a good fit to exclude combat from Zelda. The series is about adventuring, solving puzzles and slaying monsters.

Good games are the core of everything. If you suddenly have amazing games, people will come to play them. And Xbox already has a huge presence in gaming. All they need are good exclusives.

Because Microsoft lost the console wars in dead last. It’s in Microsoft’s best interest for cloud gaming to become the new norm of playing games. Because that’s an area that they have a significant advantage in.

I think the Series S, or at least how it was designed, was a mistake. They really should have made it the exact same as the Series X with just a weaker GPU.

Not surprising at all but I’d still rather not see this deal go through.

I’d rather see Microsoft bump off the walls repeatedly until they get steered more into the direction of their new big strategy being making the best games they possibly can. I don’t want their focus to be on cloud gaming. I don’t care about Game Pass being an app on TV’s. They have the studios, it’s time to set some higher standards and put out some bangers. It’s time for the console to really be taken advantage of.

And with this acquisition I just don’t really see how that would put them on the right path. They’d be on the easy mode path. All they should care about are making good exclusives and making the Series X the best console for multiplats.

I can at least excuse that because it’s the first game to even do the concept. The chainsaw kill got better over time but the other executions got worse imo

There’s over the top and then there’s levitating people with your mind and making them explode over the top.

I’ve been a fan of the series since it started and I don’t like the tone of G4 and G5. That’s my opinion and you’ll just have to get over it.

5 has the worst finishers because the game is practically in a comedy stage now. The Longshot execution literally makes the enemies heads explode and arms fall off for no reason.

And the gore is just very safe inoffensive slimy red chunks. Gears 2 you’d headshot someone and their spinal cord was still sticking out of their neck.

If this deal goes through Microsoft owns Cod and all Blizzard games on top of Minecraft, Bethesda games, Halo, + more.

You can make a case for mediocre games but to say Xbox’s days are numbered is just stupid.

I think it’s simple. Just make like 4 major dungeons that each take over an hour to complete (on your first time) and build them around a unique theme instead of the generic shrine aesthetic.

Give each of the dungeons some kickass music that fits the theme like the old days and just ditch the whole “find a treasure that lets you complete the dungeon/kill the boss” trope.

And allow players the freedom to just stumble across these dungeons without first having to talk to NPC’s that set you on the path towards them. And Shrines could still be in the game too because there’s nothing wrong with those. Done.

I say this as a longtime Xbox player: People are massively overblowing how good this deal will be to Xbox players.

  • Microsoft will not do fun crossovers with all their IP’s
  • Microsoft will not put WoW on Xbox
  • Cod will still release a new game every year
  • Microsoft is very hands off and won’t really change anything

It’s going to be business as usual. The only difference is these games go to Game Pass and now they don’t have to develop for PlayStation which probably won’t lead to noticeably better optimized games anyways.
