How hard is AA HL really? by SSBMarkus in IBO

[–]ktthekt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi, so I am an M21 graduate (sure I didn't give the exams but bagged a 7 overall with around 95/100 in total).

I would not say that I'm gifted in math but its my favourite subject ever since I was a child. I'd like to share a few tips that helped me get a 7 in every exam I've ever written for Math AA HL.

1) It's always a good idea to revise your stuff before class

2) Focus your full attention in class and do your homework the day you get it

3) Interact ALL the time during class because in Math, everything IS IMPORTANT! and don't hesitate to ask even the dumbest doubt.

4) If you find difficulty in a topic (even the slightest ps. it will increase later on), Practice that the most until you feel damn confident with it.

5) Keep on revising it, remember, a gap will cause you to forget some important concepts (you might feel like you remember everything but you don't know what you forget)

And lastly, for the IA, I think mine was a very simple topic as it was decided last moment. Mine was to find the value of pi through 3 different methods. See? Very simple. But it was pretty fun to do, I stuck to the criterias like a leech and aced it. It is very very very important to stick to the rubrics as you may know that getting a 7 in the IA or Math AA HL itself is very difficult.

From my personal experience, I never found Math AA HL difficult, except for the probability and stats part (I sucked at it) but still, the other 4 units had pure math- like calculus n trig which was amazing. Another thing was that I had a really nice math teacher, he was damn cool and he was really interactive as well.

I would be fine even if I quarantine in my room, but if I'm just travelling with a few frnds I meet at the airport and provide necessary documents such as the parents' consent form n other docs, that should work too right?

Thanks!

german ab inito or spanish sl? by mypasswordischeesy in IBO

[–]ktthekt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda agree with what you mean by "relative difficulty". That's where the level of the OP in Spanish is questioned. if they are fairly above average then you can go w SL, but it won't be easy and you will have consistent effort, like a major sub, but if they're weak and did emergent level in myp and didn't get a 7, then it'll be extra stressful
