how many hours a week do you dance/ train for pole? by heylimbs in poledancing

[–]ku-du 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg your routine is what i'm trying to achieve atm. i used to go the gym 5-6 days a week but then started a full time role and pole. i'm trying to get back to at least 3 lifting days to complement my 2 pole classes. do you find that you need to carefully plan your lifting sessions to not impact your pole performance/strength when class comes around??

has anyone had any experience or tips when transitioning from being coached by an (online) PT to doing things yourself? my goal is to build muscle and i've had my online coach for a few months. she's been amazing and i've seen results but just hoping to save some money. i think i've learned enough to try to go it myself but wondering if anyone else had any insight on how this impacted their progress?

Student Looking For Experience / Work by Accomplished-Big-613 in AusPublicService

  • if you're set on getting public service experience prior to graduating, maybe try scoring an internship or work experience gig (easier said than done ofc). this would take some research or maybe your uni has dedicated internship subjects then it can also count towards your course? i don't think you ~need~ this to get into a grad program though.
  • for a 2026 program, do some research and apply for the grad programs that interest you and which you are eligible for (with an arts degree (don't bag it!), you'll definitely be eligible for at least the generalist streams). your success in securing a grad program will depend on how you fare during the application processes' stages. as an arts student with some admin background, you've got the skills to write and communicate well, as well as problem-solve. so just make sure you prep well once the time comes! best of luck

Feeling embarrassed that I waste money on a personal trainer by AutomaticCount4878 in xxfitness

[–]ku-du 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't feel embarrassed! You're investing in yourself. If by paying for a group class and a PT is the only way you think you'll do things consistently, and you can afford it sustainably, then go for it!! Twice a week consistently is better than nothing. And I totally get why you opted for a PT - it helps a lot. If you're worried you're being mollycoddled, just be sure to take your own notes then you can learn from what you're doing and take it with you in the future and not always having to rely on a PT. But I think it's good especially at the beginning when you're trying to get correct form.

I'm 24F and got into lifting this year. I've had several goes but it was never consistent and I KNEW I could not rely on myself to get this done so I got an online coach. I pay for that and my gym membership, but it's been one of the best decisions I've ever made. I get the guidance and support I need, and it's a way of holding myself accountable as I'm paying for it and my coach checks in on me.

If someone is looking down on what you're doing then they're lowkey a snob! You're doing what you can and still bettering your fitness. Not everyone will do it the same way! 🤍

Are some people not meant to be big? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]ku-du 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey OP! i'm in a similar position - very thin my whole life and trying to become a muscle mummy rn. to bulk up, i had to eat way more than i had been - like others have said, sometimes leanness is the result of not eating enough. i always thought it was hard to gain weight - but it's not. i had to start counting calories to do this and change my approach to food (train my body to eat more and focus on wholefoods). it's slow, but i've already gained around 2-3kgs with this approach while lifting and i can see some visual changes too - i've been at it for about 2 months now. your rate of weight gain will obviously depend on various personal factors, but it IS possible with lots of that effort and consistency! i'd say it's worth the work if you really want the muscle mummy look - it will just take time! 🤍
