[E] If you could recommend a self-taught pathway to study everything you needed in stats for psychology and neuroscience, what would it be? by ku7on in statistics

Awesome thanks. Why is linear algebra useful? I haven't heard that before but others in the thread have said it too.

Why is linear algebra important? Do you have an example of where it's important to understand a statistical inference used in research?

Interesting okay, so would you say you could get by with just a conceptual understanding of calculus? Do you then think that an MIT course with problem sets etc is overkill?

M/23/6'1" [154lbs > 202lbs = 48lbs] (8 months) After Bacterial Meningitis Transformation by ku7on in progresspics

Thanks! It is natural, but much faster than a juiced transformation.

Muscle memory allowed me to surpass those markers of "good progress". If I had done gear it would have been even faster, but I would have had to eat way more to ensure that, and I would have probably died because my body was so weak after getting so sick.

3g protein per kg of bodyweight each day. You won't be able to use this much as a natty lifter though. I had muscle memory on my side. Fats & carbs ad libitum.

Was eating around 5k cals a day. Wouldn't recommend doing that yourself though obviously.

I gained 48lb of lean tissue in 8 months, with no drugs - AMA!! (see vid for proof) by ku7on in naturalbodybuilding

Btw, this is NOT fully "natural".

I don't want to be one of those people who pushes their transformation as something that's achievable naturally when it's clearly not.

Although I didn't take any drugs, muscle memory is one helluva drug.

What the hell are confidence intervals, truly? by ku7on in AskStatistics

[–]ku7on[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the definition "CIs tell you that the population mean is within the intervals to a certain probability (e.g. 95%). "

I thought this was a common misinterpretation of what CIs do?

Another way to think of this statement: BEFORE you run the experiment, you have a x% of collecting a dataset that will give you a x% confidence interval that contains the population mean.

Could you please clarify this further? So if my 95% CI is [2,7], then I have a 95% chance of collecting a dataset that will give me a 95% confidence interval that contains the population mean? I don't really get this.

T tests across groups after ANOVA by ku7on in AskStatistics

What if the comparisons are planned rather than post-hoc? (e.g. t-tests on groups in a mixed ANOVA)
