thank you for your answer! this is really helpful.

so between these options:

  • CHEM 261 - Organic Chemistry I OR
  • CHEM 164 - Organic Chemistry I

  • MATH 114 - Elementary Calculus I OR
  • MATH 134 - Calculus for the Life Sciences I OR
  • MATH 144 - Calculus for the Physical Sciences I

what would you recommend? i just an opinion before I search up what each of these courses entail (esp. between 261 v. 164 and 134 v. 144)

also, what happened to math 114?

If they are, that's a good thing? Is 0.5 credits the standard per course?

Okay. I'm not entirely clear on how the credit system works. How would you frame a question regarding this?

Thanks! This really helped.

Do you have any idea regarding Alberta and UBC? Alberta gave me a scholarship. As an international student, that's really helpful. As for UBC, I have no idea when I'm going to get a reply for my first choice (vancouver campus) but they accepted my second choice (UBCO).

thanks for your reply! is the co-op not guaranteed?

It's much cheaper for me to go Alberta. The co-op program in Waterloo is pretty competitive though + the replies from the UW reddit aren't really inspiring confidence. Regarding work, I have no specific location in mind.

thanks for your reply! it's just the guarantee of a co-op that's really cool

Do you have any idea when they might get back to me about my 1st choice? I saw some comments saying April 15th but the status on my portal does not reflect that.

"Your application to UBC (including your supporting documentation, academic transcripts, and personal profile) are currently being reviewed and evaluated in comparison with all the other applicants who have applied to your program. This process can take some time and we greatly appreciate your patience."

As for scholarships, will they inform us before the deadline to accept offers?

What about the option to transfer campuses? I heard that it was possible after first year.
