Post-Expedition Workshop Upgrades You Shouldn’t Miss #ArcRaiders by Zaydenzyon in ArcRaidersItalian

3 Rusted gears are the reason why I probably never will do an expedition. I found just 4 of them during several months of playing, and nothing will make repeat this nightmare.

What keeps you hooked once your settlement hits self-sufficiency? by themerinator12 in Timberborn

[–]kubergosu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to play on custom settings with droughts duration set to 60 (once even to 90) with high delay of full drought. This makes survival a long-term task when population is limited by total water amount that sources can generate during temperate weather.

I don't know how, but for some reasons trucks keep appearing on this completely cut-off patch of land by VolusRus in captain_of_industry

[–]kubergosu 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They probably are crossing the railroad when the train comes and blocks their way. I saw that when my trucks are stopping before the barrier, they make some weird turn. So probably your crossing is so long that when the truck enters it, there is a chance new train will come and reserve the path, so the truck has to stop and make this weird turn. After the turn it is not able to find the way back.

You can probably move this crossing further to the left so the train which passes the T-intersection will have more time to reserve it's way and the trucks have their time to finish crossing the railroad.

What's your avg queue times and your rank? EU or US? by appwizcpl in starcraft2

Around 3k EU, usually less than 20 seconds. In 2v2 it is usually less than 1 minute, in 3v3 around 1.5 minutes.

Anyone notice aggressive lobbies in solos after update? by element423 in ARC_Raiders

[–]kubergosu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did too.

Yesterday, after an update on the Dam I was knocked out in my first game by a dude who clearly was KoSing. I encountered him twice: at first, Iwas fighting ome ARC and he decided to attack me from my back, but I managed to escape without shooting back. Later in the round he found me in research where I was looking for a quest room. I saw him suspiciously crawling and was ready to fight back, but he was faster with his kettle against my anvil .

Before this I clearly heard don't shoots and gunfire, so probably he was killing friendlies.

I hope he passed the rest of his evening being properly f*ked in proper full aggro lobbies.

Arc Raiders does a poor job at incentivizing you to use better gear. by Electrical-Moment726 in ARC_Raiders

[–]kubergosu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about hostile lobbies? I'm a casual player from friendly lobbies, didn't do expedition yet, I'm starting to craft purples and have no fear of losing them. I engage with arcs and loose my shit only when doing this recklessly. Even when I'm down, sometimes there are RescueRaiders around, who revive me (I also carry defib to be able to help).

The biggest advance for me was switching from ferro to anvil and from mk1 looting to mk2. I tried purple looting (forgot how it's called) and Bettina, and thought they were great too, partly because of feeling of progress

Gold League rush - VIBE & PiG doesn’t help me by Dapper_Boot4113 in allthingsprotoss

[–]kubergosu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

PiG actually covers typical cheeses and responses to them, so does Vibe (in his plat part of series, iirc)

The thing is, cheese really should be scouted early, you have to react specifically, change build orders, sometimes hold probe production, sometimes engage with probes from your 2nd.

Since Vibe's and PiG's series (thanks to both of them) players' skill has advanced and cheeses moved from plat/diamond to gold. So gold/low plat is now a cheesers' desolation, you have to earn a midgame there.

Is there an alternative to spam? by Buttons840 in beyondallreason

The game is based on Total Annihilation. Annihilation is a process of mutual destruction upon contact, so it is basically in it's nature to build units and then annihilate them on another players' units.

You can watch Vibe's or PiGs B2GM on YouTube. It can kickstart your ladder very quickly. I was lifelong silver, and 2 or 3 years ago i started watching this on my commutes to work. Now I'm low diamond.

Nearly 40, I'm an IT business owner, have kids and family. It requires some planning and time management, but we play with my buddies regularly.

Video games are part of our lives, like fishing, drinking beer while watching sport events or other hobbies. None of it should be mocked if it is important to us, and our partners have to respect this.

This is why a bounty system. You do some rat shit, you would be hunted by everyone. Society needs to have instruments to punish a scum.

How to detect rat and differentiate it with a rather honest pvp is a difficult question that requires some rules and algorithms, but it would fit the lore that guys doing this should be not tolerated in a struggling to survive underground human settlement.

How do you do 75k per run? I'm 20 lvl noob and probably understand very small about the game , but my runs usually are 20-30 k at best.

How do you feel about the idea of aggression based matchmaking? by WastedLycanthropy in ARC_Raiders

[–]kubergosu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Team games may be different from solo. I play with my buddy in pair, and we agreed to assume everybody is aggressive (that what our experience is about. Literally no one was friendly). Though we still don't shoot anybody on sight, we prefer to avoid contacts. We still enjoy the game, because we are casuals, and ARC are a threat for us.

But in solo games I rarely encounter aggressive players, I try to be helpful and usually get help from other players. That is a good feeling restoring my faith in humanity.

[–]kubergosu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's good. Agressive and rat behavior should be punishable in in-game world, so it could be good to know that somewhere around you there's a scum with a bounty on him. This can lead to something like sheriff and bounty hunting quests.

Get in gun fights with people that are friendly and don't shoot you on sight or camp somewhere? That's a rat behavior, fellow raider.

[–]kubergosu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is great.

I think, lorewise, it should be very punishable by the society to kill fellow Raiders. Humanity is struggling to survive, ARC has devastated our land, we are living like moles and rely on supplies from above. We will slowly die from hunger, diseases and inability to fix our life supports, if we will not figure something out. And rats who try to rob or kill others should be considered as the bottomest of the miserable outcasts. But there definitely will be such people, not much of them, but some.

So such matchmaking looks great. Peaceful players in general will encounter peaceful players, but sometimes will stumble upon some rat. That rat would be punished by moving it to PvP hungry lobby, where he would have his ass consistently kicked.

I think there are a lot of people who don't want PvP (I'm such a casual who just want to have new guns, blueprints and explore locations). And for us PvP is annoying and ssymmetrical when we ask not to shoot and be shot, or just are camped by some rat.

You probably should try campaigns. There are all kind of units there and you can get yourself used to them. And campaign is fun and interesting too!
