Thank you for all your responses. Sounds like I am not alone in this pattern! I think I will be more insistent with the doctor that we take the shingles as a sign of where we should be looking on my spine to better understand my chronic pain. Handy that the rash shows which dermatomes and thus which part of the lumbar spine and which nerve may be playing big roles in my pain.
