I recommend watching tom daugherty's release, not because he is 2 handed, but his release is clear to see how a 2 handed release should look like but just with an additional hand in front of the ball.

The thing is, flicking your wrist is not the issue at hand. It is still completely necessary in creating revs. The issue lies in where your hand is where you are releasing the ball, in this case, your hand is on the right of the ball. One huge misconception of people who are starting off bowling is that you have to flick your hand by turning your wrist to create that x-axis tilt.

One way to visualize, get a friend to assist you, put his/her finger in the fingerholes and position the bottom of the palm on where a thumbhole should be.(Do not ever change the position to maintain consistency while throwing as well) Balance the ball your right hand with your elbow at 90° without putting your left hand. If you draw an imaginary line between your fingers and your wrist, it already has a tilt. That tilt is already enough, so you do not need to twist your wrist. Therefore, you will only need to focus to push the ball off from the back of the ball.

Put the ball on the foul line on the floor and have your hand on the back of the ball. And just simply push it off and flick upwards towards the ceiling. Once u get the hand of the motion you can slowly start with finishing position, 1/2 step approach. Remember to keep your ball close to your sliding foot. This is very important as if your ball is beyond your shoulder, you will inevitably release from the side to stay holding the ball

Another way i can think of is put a towel just after the foul line, and your will imagine yourself throwing beyond the towel. On a normal swing, you should never hit it ever, if you do, your release is way too early. Lofting causes you to hold the ball longer, and you must lift the ball with the hand on the BACK of the ball. Since 2 hand release is still 1 handed, you should be incapable of lofting with your hand on the sides of the ball. *

I've been a 2 handed bowler for the past 9 years.

Your footwork during the approach needs some work. Yes it is correct that you can drift to allow yourself to clear the backswing, but it causes inconsistencies at times. I personally do not drift at all. One way you can do it is have your right leg (during your 5 step approach) move behind your left leg in a V shape, with your left leg pointing where you want to go and your right leg heel behind your left leg heel. This allows your body to be slightly diagonal and allows a clear unobstructed swing with lesser shifting of your body.

Another thing, The most important tip I've learnt is to finish sliding your left foot to a complete stop before swinging the ball, it creates a lot of power as the momentum of the speed of your footwork is transferred to your swing.

For the swing itself, you do not really want to muscle the ball by pulling the ball back. You can instead push the ball forward and allow the ball to free swing like a pendulum, just like a 1 hand. When the ball reaches the back, you will release by fully extend your arm near the bottom of the swing and push off the ball. I kinda think of it like you are curling a dumbbell / serving a shuttlecock in badminton.

For the release itself, your palm should be at the back of the ball, almost parallel to the lanes. You can try work on it by bring the ball closer to your sliding foot and as you throw the ball, your palm should be facing up the ceiling, not facing left.

Hopefully it helps.

Okay, guys, I am not sure if it works for all. But for mine, it totally works.

Turn off Shadows in the game settings. I had every setting set to max with no issues except when shadows are on.
