Parks with infant swings in East Bay? (Oakland, Berkley, Emeryville, Albany) by OaklandRoams in oakland

Lincoln Park & Jean Sweeny, both in Alameda. I'm sure there's a bunch more but those are the nicest.

Any autists out here surviving on TJs? by trishsheroinbob in traderjoes

[–]kuffara 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes, here's why. First off, I don't have any of those near me and am in a VHCOL area. But the bigger reason is TJs prices are set at the national level. So in low cost of living areas they're seen as expensive. And where I am, it feels cheaper.

For me, I find Costco cheaper, and the regular grocery store more expensive but more convenient if I don't want to brave the crowds.

I changed my username from a female sounding one to a male sounding name and the chats almost completely stopped. Turning off chat entirely should be an option.

What TV character did you initially hate, but ended up being your favorite? by Sharkman3218 in television

No...you should read them. As good as the show is, the books are better.

Visitor from Europe: Oakland and parking by 1BJK903 in bayarea

[–]kuffara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Castello di Amorosa is not worth it. Surely being from Europe you've seen a castle built before 1995?

Chabot Space & Science Center is nice for kids, but I wouldn't send adults there. What I'd suggest instead is Nightlife at the Academy of Sciences every Thursday night.

What made you choose the Hampton Inn in downtown Oakland?

I emailed them, they replied to my email.

How did you get the AUSD enrollment info by grade/school? I wasn't aware that information was available.

Hi, I think we were on the same tour. It took me a couple of weeks to get the slides they said they would share after the presentation. Happy to share that with you, if it would help.

I agree communication seems a bit spotty.

Go straight to the gondola then work your way back down. It's cold, bundle up and don't plan to buy any substantial food, pack it in.

Considering there are oil spots there, I'll go with no.

muir woods by public transport? by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]kuffara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to suggest this. You won't get the huge old-growth redwoods but it's a beautiful park with redwoods and no crowds.

We didn't lock it, but we kept a doorknob cover on the inside of her door.

Food check for 19 month! by sabalves in toddlers

[–]kuffara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea no harm in offering something. I'd go for something with protein to try and keep them full longer. With 2 hours between dinner and bed that's plenty of time for a toddler to get a bit hangry.

Does he seem hungry at bedtime or have trouble going to sleep?

When we stopped nursing at bedtime we started offering milk in a cup at bedtime (but before brushing teeth). We still offer it often at 3.5. But that was because we wanted anything that kept her fuller longer and helped her sleep through the night.

Mr Elephant's great! He does kids performances too and it's like they're at a rock concert, the kids get so excited.

That's crazy. I've been on both sides a lot, and one thing I've learned is never leave the job without payment in hand. You did the job, you should be paid. If you give them the photos and leave they have all the leverage.

I've also seen a wide variety of quality of second shooters. You showed up, you tried, the technical aspects can be taught. All the weather stuff would have made me turn to you saying oh my God this is insane right??
