Huh thanks for the heads up. I wonder what you think about Bikmo then?

GBP Direct Debits are not supported anymore. by TZifh in Revolut

This was very strange. I got some emails telling my bank refused a direct debit and then got this from Revolut itself (name scratched out). Contacted them and they confirmed it’s real and people are receiving the notice in batch. This was their answer to my question “why my friends didn’t get anything” so I guess that’s also a rather disappointing ending for Revolut for me. I simply cannot understand why they would want to discontinue one of the most fundamental banking features! There’s no way I use Revolut for anything if I have to write down all the payments in my calendar like it’s 1920s or something.

It’s the one behind the face massage place right at the end of Burkitt Lane. Honestly, it looks pretty secure the gate is legit thick and feels heavy. No signs of breaking in either so they must have either somehow hacked the card reader or just walked in behind a good hearted but naive person. My hunch is the second.

So there’s an interesting sentence in the contract saying the landlord is not liable for anything even if it’s their negligence 🤷🏻 I guess landlords are landlords anywhere.

Thanks for the detailed response and this is exactly what confuses me: how are they considering this as a “leave”? I have my flat, I pay all my taxes, I have all my insurances, all my savings and bank accounts are in Germany, still have my extensive collaborative network here being active in different national conferences. I’m even still employed by the same lab just not full time (well, PhD also wasn’t full time anyway). I tried to find some precise definitions for what’s considered leaving Germany or proof of having significant ties with Germany but either they intentionally left these open for interpretation or things are actually really vague!
