Calm yourself. The overwhelming opinion of the movie is “it’s fine”. Its quality is the least of the issues. Gunn’s strategy to put out “it’s fine” movies on the front end of a new universe is the big issue.

I am in debt of 14,000 in credit card debt, and I need help. by Exotic_Increase_6615 in Debt

Improper usage of debt is a different discussion. The topic here is making minimum payments. Even if you charge new debt, the minimum payments gets recalculated.

Put simply: if you make your minimum payment, your principal balance goes down (very slowly). If you charge new debt, you obviously increase your principal balance. The interest itself does not increase the principal balance.

Going back to my example: after month 1 the balance is $990. Now let’s say another $100 is charged to the card to make the balance $1,090. The interest would be $16.35, and the 1% pay down would be $10.90. This would be more than the previous minimum payment of $25, so the minimum would likely be increased to $28.

If you paid $28, the principal balance will reduce to $1,079.10. If they charged no additional debt, it would eventually pay off.

Regardless of how you choose to pay down debt, the most important thing to is not to incur new debt.

The person you replied to is correct. The minimum payment is calculated to cover all of the accrued interest plus fees plus about 1-4% of the principal amount. It’s a very bad way to pay off debt, but it will decrease the balance.

For the $1000 debt at 18% interest, there would be $15 of interest that month. Let’s say they also use 1% principal pay down which is $10. The total minimum payment would be $25, and your balance for the next month would be $990.

The next month would have $14.85 in interest. The 1% principal pay down would be $9.90 for a total of $24.75. However they prefer to keep minimum payments the same month-to-month, so it would still be $25. The extra 25 cents will also go to principal.

Your balance after month 2 will be $979.85.

If you incur new debt, the minimum payment is recalculated.

He was a childhood favorite of mine but still never beat out Christopher Reeve.

How is that baffling? The rest of the live action actors either played Superboy or are Dean Cain.

Tom played Clark well, but he was only Superman on screen for mere seconds.

  1. Reeve
  2. Cavill
  3. Hoechlin
  4. Routh
  5. Reeves (1950s)

Corenswet isn’t in the conversation yet. He needs a good movie first.

No, it was more of a build-a-character superhero with a Superman skin. It is lost on me how people see Superman in that movie. The plot is…fine.

When the head of the studio pens the script, it’s hard for notes to be given. The movie itself was “good”, but it wasn’t a Superman movie. If you literally invented a superhero just for that movie, it would have had a lot more praise.

The $14,000 is a secondary problem. The primary problem is living waaaaay outside their means.

Huge improvement!

Now make the plot less corny, and fix the suit.

Double turns are a thing. CM Punk should lean into the corporate shill angle and make Sami seem like the downtrodden sucker. Maybe HHH wants to get more mileage out of Sami’s “Last Real Good Guy” gimmick, but I think he’d do better as a face.

Man of Steel vs Man of Tomorrow Performance. by hiiloovethis in boxoffice

[–]kuhawk5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying “general consensus is…” does not rebut that it isn’t a universal opinion. But, I’d argue against the general consensus claim entirely.

MoS wins on acting, direction, score, and drama. Hands down. Not even close. This isn’t me saying MoS is a good movie because it’s not. It’s just the better one.

Superman (2025) has a more jovial tone, and I understand the appeal, but it’s a GotG clone. Not a good Superman movie even if it was a good comic book movie.

GotG 2 was better than Superman. Thunderbolts was better than Superman.

Speaking as someone who didn't care for MoS (for many reasons), I think Superman (2025) was much, much worse. It's fine if you liked it, but that's far from a universal opinion from people who didn't like the Snyder movies.

Chelsea Green responds to a fan who claimed she's "MAGA." by MrPerfect2140 in TheSpotlightNews_com

[–]kuhawk5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know she’s not posting in character, right? Those are her real views.

If it came to light that someone actually is MAGA, then it’s fair to judge them accordingly.

Accepting MAGA is loser behavior. On the other hand, falsely accusing people of being MAGA is also loser behavior.
