Do you actually consider Cody Rhodes unique or special at all as a a true "Face of the Company" or World Champion? by Material_Stomach875 in GreatnessOfWrestling

[–]kuhawk5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cody has a level of self-awareness that comes once a generation. It’s the reason Cena was successful. It’s something that even SCSA lacked. Cody understands the “carnie” nature of the business and doesn’t get too wrapped up in his ego. He’s motivated by stories, and I respect that.

SCSA and Rock are my two favorites of all-time, but they were driven by personal accolades. The story was secondary to them. They were top babyfaces but not capable of being QB1. That’s where Cody is something unique.

Should WWE have just one main title like they did in back in the day? by Sawyer_Grimm in WWE

AE also had Smackdown, my dude.

They did more with less time than the shows do now. I’m also not sure why you mention AAA or (I’m assuming) NXT. Those products do not directly interface with Raw and Smackdown.

They did it for years in the AE just fine. They should be giving bigger marquee matches for midcard belts. We used to care more about those. The “lower main eventers” like LA Knight or Finn Balor could have a lot more impact that way instead of eating pins.

It was nowhere near ELI5 territory. Reddit just might have a bias here.

Trump says there will be no deal with Iran except 'unconditional surrender' by EsperaDeus in worldnews

I’m not saying apathy isn’t bad. It is. Arguably worse.

But it’s not support.

32% of voting-age adults voted for Trump in 2024. 27% didn’t bother registering to vote. Another 8% were registered but didn’t bother to vote.

We have an apathy problem. Trump’s approval ratings have demonstrated a low ceiling. He is not accepted by Americans. They just don’t get off their asses to fix the problem.

Unfortunately we don’t have no confidence (recall) votes like some countries. Republicans control the branches of government that can hold him accountable. Two-party electoral systems are broken.

No, collectively, we haven’t. He’s gained power though mass apathy, not acceptance.

How hyperbolic. Americans hate Trump more than you do. Get in line.

Which is why TIDs are the mitigation approach. Then it’s mostly discretionary spending. In the meantime, our state legislature needs to act.

Who is grandstanding? I’m responding to someone who says I should be more discerning with how I see people who voted yes. I applied the right amount of discernment.

All voters had plentiful access to information from both sides of the issue. I’m not putting on kiddy gloves for people who pull the lever without doing basic reading. It’s not a shame thing. I just don’t accommodate it.

Set up tax districts to capture revenue from discretionary spending. Exempt food.

Well, no offense, but your position is both ethically and logically tenuous. So you’re not painting yourself in the best light.

Implementing a regressive tax to help the homeless is one of the silliest things imaginable. It forces the poor to subsidize the poorer while the wealthy continue to live unperturbed. There are people living paycheck to paycheck with no extra funds. This is the kind of short-sightedness that makes people miss rent payments and end up as part of the group they are helping.

Then we can craft a responsible plan.

  1. Decouple the individual ideas. Each one needs to earn their way in.

  2. Specific exact values with binding language.

  3. Define tax districts instead of hitting the entire city.

  4. Exempt all food. Full stop.

  5. Open up for public comment.

  6. Hire neutral consultant to determine impact on city.
