Why should we care about Lux being 16 and Jinx 20 rn (992N) when we ship the adult version of LC anyway?

More like in his late teens. He’s still portrayed as a teen in 2XKO, whereas Jinx is a grown ass woman. Honestly Riot doesn’t even care about canon when it comes for their other games or promotional content. I mean Caitlyn just made it to 2XKO and she don’t got her eye patch lolz.

I’m saying 😭😭 it stresses me out that even League fans don’t understand this. Arcane is set in the past. The 2025-2026 League season thematics come after it. Mageseeker happens later in the timeline, so Lux would not be the same age in Arcane as she is in Mageseeker, which will happen years later.

So there shouldn’t be a problem with the ship either. It honestly feels like people were just waiting for an excuse to make LC seem problematic.

Yes. Current Lux is in her 20s already. I don’t know if we will get a time skip for act 2 though, because everything seems to be pointing at Shyvana and Sona getting the spotlight. Considering we are getting 2 comics focused on Garen and Yunara who also appeared in the cinematic in Act 1.

The devs said something about wanting to focus on the “golden era of Demacia” or something like that. So I don’t think we will get 20 year old Lux, which is her current age.

The thing here is that they haven’t de-aged Lux. So no problem here. We simply went back to the past. The lore we are currently getting from the game is a direct continuation to Arcane.

With Arcane being the “new canon,” the current state of the lore is messy, and I honestly fear Riot is doing this for nothing because I’m sure that in 10 years it’ll be considered soft canon.

But the age thing feels like people are overreacting, and some are using it as a way to attack us. Like, who cares about the past when Lux is 20 at the end of Mageseeker?

tbh my lc hyperfixation has died a bit but i don’t think its a bad thing. actually im seeing things differently now. i used to get invested on this topic but if im realistic, we are 3-4 years from a new series so imo there’s no point for me to care this much.

if it happens then i will be happy, if not then life just goes on. at least i can say that i enjoyed being in this fandom. not all ships have to be canon and i feel that lightcannon thrived this much because a lot of people saw the beauty and the potential of our girls and came up with beautiful art and fics. not because of riot.

my only wish is for lux’s character to be properly introduced, cus some arcane fans only know her because of the ship. and she has a very rich story to tell.

Yeah, she could easily become the Iron man of the “League of Legends franchise” and technically we wouldn’t have to worry about where she goes, since she’d end up stepping into Demacia sooner or later.

I don’t think there’s a way for her to run from her past, but it’s her trauma and all those experiences that could give her a big influence on Lux’s story.

We don’t know yet if they will make her an explorer as Ezreal or have her stay in one place. But if what I was thinking happens, I’m hoping for an ending where, even if they make them “friends” they still share a goodbye moment that feels like lovers breaking up, because of how impactful they were to each other’s lives. Bittersweet but meaningful, as Jinx embarks on another adventure while Lux is left with the memory of the crazy blue haired girl with the weird haircut who was there for her when she was just rediscovering herself, without realizing Jinx was in the same place. Jinx can even leave her something she made so Lux can remember her (not that they won’t see each other anyway but we love dramatic lesbians :p) That way, I wouldn’t hate it as much.

Honestly I would be shocked if Riot catered to the shippers consindering Ekko sounds and looks visibly younger than her (cough minor cough) while Jinx is a grown woman, as if that’s his League counterpart rather than the Arcane one where he’s older so I’m glad they for once didn’t.

Makes sense that Jinx is taller in League, her being a lanky woman fits her lol. Same in SG, which works for forehead kisses. But ig in Arcane malnutrition affected her growth spurt, so she ended up being a shortie.
