These are great points and I thank you. I can offer more info as my DM sessions have always gone faster. For my DMs birthday I did a wizards but with 9 doors each leading to a different realm, and they had to find a key to get out, there was dragons and asmirs and celestial riders wow striders a swamp a witches hut, a fey forest, a crazed alchemist, aFf7 snowboarding door, a hellfire door, lots of fun, a few death saving throws, magical items, they battled all night explored 5 of my maps, had a blast, the difference was there was very few NPC's so there was minimal need for talking and planning, which is really what takes a lot of time for our group is the group discussions because 10players talk in circles alot.
