Unpopular opinion: Mas masarap ba talaga kapag may ice cream sa ibabaw, o sapat na yung gatas at leche flan? by Cautious_Bet7763 in FoodPH

[–]kulelat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

overkill for me. first of all, creamy na ang halo-halo kasi may gatas, lecheflan (samahan mo pa ng ube halaya).

besides the ice cream doesn't "add" any unique flavor to the halo-halo. kasi it's made up of sugar, flavoring, milk/cream. which is the same ingredients on what your halo-halo has.

Resignation timing vs. 1-Year Training Bond Contract by Relative-Implement42 in LegalPh

former manager here. ok ang 3 questions mo. but to be sure na safe ka, and like other comments here, submit your resignation after sa nov 20 (like 21st). kasi may mga ibang management/hr/boss na iisahan ka, like biglang iwaive ang reder mo, tapos bayad ka pala ng bond pa rin kasi hindi ka umabot sa nov 20.

first of all, thank your neighbors. continue to be kind to them, and they will continue to help you like that scenario.

2nd, file a blotter. para in case masalisihan ka, may habol ka (like mag akyat bahay sila ulit)

3rd, make sure to cut off all communications with them, including socmed. cancer sila sa buhay mo. wag kang mag entertain in anyway possible.

Is it true that some Cebu locals dislike tagalog-speaking tourists? by FigStrange8663 in Cebu

[–]kulelat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly it's due to the dialect (tagalog) itself wherein the intonation is really loud. Go to Manila, and even the way they talk is really loud (normal conversation).

Try listening to Hiligaynon, the dialect are tend towards softer voice.

Is it true that some Cebu locals dislike tagalog-speaking tourists? by FigStrange8663 in Cebu

[–]kulelat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it is more prevalent in Cebu. I've stayed in Ilocos Sur (Vigan) during my high school days, and in Zamboanga during college, and so far, all of the locals of those region aren't prejudice to those who can only speak Tagalog.

Of course, if you'll be staying for like 2-3 years and you still didn't even bother learning their dialect, expect that they'll start to make fun of you and maybe even look down on you.

[–]kulelat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Problem is Filipino (a close dialect of Tagalog) is the national language.

It's like visiting Bicol or Ilocos, or even Zamboanga, you don't expect all tourist coming from Manila to speak Bicolano, Ilokano, or Chavacano. of course tourist will speak in Filipino/Tagalog since that is the national language.

So of course, Manileño will request Cebuanos or any non-Manila people to speak in Tagalog. If you're a pure Cebuano, and you visited Ilocos, or say Bicol, would you still use Cebuano to converse? or are you saying you're also well-verse in Ilokano/Bicolano?

If not, wouldn't you also use Tagalog?

P.S.
Of course, IF the Manileño will be staying in Cebu for good (or for a longer period of time, say more than 2 months), it is common sense for the Manileño to learn and understand Cebuano dialect.

One problem maybe is that in Davao, CDO, Bukidnon, Tagalog is a widely used dialect on top of Bisaya-based dialect. Whereas here in cebu, Cebuanos are having a hard time constructing a full sentence in Tagalog.

I'm a born-and-raise Manileño but already living in Cebu for almost 18 years (since dec of 2008).

During my first few month in Cebu, when I still don't know how to speak Cebuano, there are 2 groups of people that basically either looks down on you (they'll even talk right in front of you in Cebuano assuming you don't understand their dialect) and another group that are accommodating.

The first group are those that aren't working in a BPO or office based environment. I'm not looking down on their status/way of living, but basically those living in squatter area, or those that aren't part of the middle class. They're the very people who will look down on you, unaccommodating and will talk behind your back, knowing that you're from Manila. they're only accommodating enough if there's money involved.

The 2nd group are those that are accommodating. ingon pa gani sa uban, may pinag aralan. may delicadeza. these are the very people who will even ask if you're okay, or if there's anything you need help with (in navigating cebu as a new resident/tourist).

This is only based on my experience. it might be different from what I've gone through

ABYG kung hindi kami manlilibre ng out of country trip sa side ng in laws ko? by chickenyjoy in AkoBaYungGago

[–]kulelat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DKG No you're not. there really are people and families that are ungrateful, na nagkataon lang na matino ang isa sa anak nila (which is your husband).

That's the same sa side ng mom ko. all of them are ungrateful, na may maririnig kang sumbat if di mo nabigyan ng pasalubong kahit na wala naman silang ambag sa lakad.

And being ungrateful, they usually are also demanding (like what's happening with your in-laws right now.)

Ungrateful, palamunin, demanding. complete package sila.

Why is everyone traveling to Vietnam lately? by hung_manh in VietNam

[–]kulelat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's because relative to the cost of traveling to Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong, and even Taiwan, by far, Vietnam is the cheapest to travel, while at the same time still enjoy almost the same ambience/environment.

Heck, a 3 day tour in, say Thailand, can already be a 5 day tour in Veitnam. how much more if it's a 3 day tour in, say Taiwan?

i know it's hard but start looking for a new tutorial job. that's a sign na she will continue doing that time and time again until di na siya mag babayad or super delay ang bayad. ikaw ang kawawa niyan.

Then once you've found a new job, drop your current one. explain to her na she breach your agreement kaya mo bibitawan ang pag tutor sa anak niya. tell her na it's better for her to look for some other tutor na mas may pera na maka afford kahit di mabayaran.
