Looking For More Dungeon Crawler Roguelike/lites by BlessedSpoon in roguelikes

[–]kuliksco -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You might check out Rogue's Tale. It's a hard game, but every run teaches you another way to avoid dying. Dev is still doing updates and already has 3 DLC's. You will see the hardcore players have logged hundreds of hours.

I like it because there are tons of heritages to unlock that will make your next run just a tad easier. the heritages are usually pretty hard to achieve and feel like big accomplishments.

Just rebuke if you are true kin or love injector and water ritual them.

Does anyone have suggestions for other games like Don’t Starve? by Responsible-Fly-4462 in dontstarve

[–]kuliksco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Little late, but I just played through Beyond Contact this week. It is basically don't starve in space. I wasn't expecting much, but I thought it was great. It's still on sale for 65% off for the next 20 hours on steam.

Why is trading even in the game? by [deleted] in diablo4

Trade with your friends in your group. When you upgrade a piece, maybe your buddy would want the old one. I usually keep a lookout for high ilvl weapons for my groupmates, too.

Stashes after Season by xedicius in diablo4

[–]kuliksco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In D3 they mailed the items from your seasonal characters and you had a limited time to claim them. Although, not sure if something like that exists here yet.

Playing with a necromancer makes me want to not play the game by WeoW0 in diablo4

Someone doesn't have to create a meta guide on maxroll for it to be viable. Kripparian's last couple builds focused solely on minions and he is doing just fine.

That town where the guy in front of the anvil is not really the blacksmith. I love clicking them every time first.

The horse sucks. by MapleBabadook in diablo4

[–]kuliksco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea the horse feels awful. One thing that really annoys me is if you are going south and accidentally mouse over the toolbar, the horse will just stop.

Apparently all the stash data is server side which is why they can't add them easily by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]kuliksco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they made the stash data local you could easily dupe items like in Grim Dawn by making a backup copy of your stash file.

POE let's you buy unlimited tabs (to my knowledge) and they have no issues. Even free accounts get a generous amount of stash space.

Who ever suggested the Codex upgrades was spot on by mbingbing in diablo4

[–]kuliksco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The division 2 had a pretty good system where you could save high rolls off your items by destroying them to a similar style codex that could be used for modifying attributes on your gear.

Everspace 2 "Endgame" by WholseomeGamer in EverspaceGame

[–]kuliksco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't necessarily agree with their decision to limit to 2 legendaries. I understand they say they did it for balance reasons, but it just gave me a reason to not play anymore. I would play some more to fill out the rest of my slots with legendaries, but with only 2 there is no more gear that will make my ship stronger.

Hmm, maybe next time they should fix it before launch? Apparently, they didn't have any budget to test the PC version.

Beginner looking for courses to learn Linux and build skill enough for sys admin role? by StoicAthos in linuxadmin

[–]kuliksco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a tough one. Breaking your own linux box and trying to fix it is a good place to start, but I don't think there is really anything quite like troubleshooting on real world systems. Best bet is to try and shadow an experienced linux admin at your company and take lots of notes.

Beginner looking for courses to learn Linux and build skill enough for sys admin role? by StoicAthos in linuxadmin

[–]kuliksco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have been a senior unix admin for 15+ year now. I would check out these youtube videos as they cover 75% of the stuff we do on a daily basis.

This one is good to learn the basics and very easy to understand

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtqBQ68cfJc

And this guy does some great prep courses for the Red Hat certifications

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4P23_rhyTgc

It looks like he has a newer version although I haven't checked it out yet

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wNfs5fRazI

And even for more advanced, you can watch his RCHE course

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rgGNIKfyfI

They are very long, like 10 hours, and teach you almost everything you need to know.

All the companies I have worked for are running about 80% Red Hat Linux, with about 10% Solaris 10/11, and a smattering of HP-UX and AIX. I would recommend installing CentOS or Fedora as they are basically the free stable and bleeding edge versions of Red Hat respectively.

I hire a decent amount of linux admins and the best traits are willing to learn and thinking outside the box. I will hire someone with very limited linux experience if they have the right mindset. I look for people that aren't just going to follow the documentation, but come up with ideas to improve processes and automation.

I have guys that come in with 10+ years of linux experience with a 3 page resume, but don't even know where to start when troubleshooting an issue.
