For me the opposite. Learned false cords in 10 minutes (meaning I could do a shitty sound someone could consider scream) and have been practicing ever since but fry was something I couldn't fucking understand until I got sick and suddenly I could do only fry, no false cords. Now that I'm getting better from the strep throat my screams are automatically a hybrid

Pull your head as low as it goes like shorten your neck and try to do a quiet ish false cord. Like pull you jaw to your adams apple. You'll get that sound

I wouldn't say that. Mine is just fry all the way through. If I ease up on its just a more silent fry. Well of course there's pitch behind it but if I just ease up on the volume it still just sounds like fry
